Description

G2G Now is a voluntary app provided by the Western Australia Police Force allowing people subject to a quarantine direction to conduct in-app check-ins using their face as their ID. If you use this app you will be sent check in requests at different times of the day during your quarantine. You simply check in by taking a photo. Your location will be checked at the same time to ensure you are at your registered quarantine address.

To use G2G Now you must have a G2G PASS account and be approved to enter Western Australia.

To use this app please ensure you enable the following permissions 1) push notifications 2) camera and 3) location services when using the app. If you do not enable them you will not be able to use the app and will be monitored by WA Police with phone calls and in-person visits from police officers.

G2G Now is not a tracking app. Your location is checked at time of check-in and when you perform health updates.

Fine for checkins until....

I missed 2 checkins. For some reason I didn’t get a notification so it was only when I opened the app I had a screen telling me I had missed 2 checkins and to provide an explanation. It is now frozen on that screen. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a number of times, turned off zoom as instructed by the officer that called to see why I hadn’t checked in but no, still frozen on the explanation screen. Can’t use the app anymore to checkin until this glitch is fixed.

Loads of bugs

When I set up it didn’t bring my isolation address over so police has to ring me to fix in system. Won’t let me add my covid test information as can’t find the Norseman hospital which is the the first one after crossing boarder from SA so a popular test clinic. When missed a check in it took three attempts to send reason and restating app over again. Takes the daily heath checks but not sure if working as still got message from heath WA offering daily sms heath checking after I was on day 2 and already updating in the app daily.
Shame as I love the idea of freeing up already strained police resources.

Ok in general, but annoying issues

It has my quarantine address for a cancelled application and doesn’t allow it to be updated from the new application, not sure yet if it will be a problem, but the app tells me every time that I’m at the wrong address

Edit: location issue only occurred on the first check-in, after that it had the correct address and worked well.
