Gem - Money tracker 4+

Hi developers, I’ve been using the emerald budgeting app and love it, though I really wish there was a syncing feature, as I use different devices and would like to access the information when I’m on, say my iPad. That be would amazing, as well as the spending categories for us to tap immediately when entering amounts, rather than having to type something first and then being able to see the categories. It be would much better if the note was an optional thing, rather than mandatory for us to see the categories. Thank you, Alice

EDIT: Hey again, please update your app and try: category suggestions when logging new purchases (no multi-device sync yet, but you can backup to iCloud)

Syncing will be available sometime next year, we’re a tiny team and don’t want to rush out something potentially affecting your privacy :)

As for category selection, we are working on typing-free shortcuts for entry creation - stay tuned! That said, Emerald will likely stay notes-based instead of category-based since we believe that’s our unique value. In the meantime, you can type just the first 2 letters of anything you previously entered to get suggestions and hit Return to quickly select it (“pi” for “pizza”).

The UI is clean and neat, only a few things that I would recommend to have tags, and can select different currencies when record the transaction and show the amount in default currency in the summary statistics, as well as different saving plans for different goals.

Update June 2024: Gem now supports different currencies :) Please update to version 3.5.
