The Geni app assesses your risk of having an STI or STD, creates non-invasive reminders about when you should attend for a sexual health check, and delivers informed advice about your sexual health that has been fact checked by healthcare professionals. When you first download the app, you will be asked to take a short survey. The survey questions will be based on the questionnaire healthcare providers use before they conduct sexual health tests. The app survey contains four main questions:
1. Have you ever engaged in sexual activity before?
2. Are you sexually active?
3. When was your last sexual health check?
4. Have you ever had an STI before?

Risk calculator:
Based on your answers to the four key questions, the Geni app will be able to determine if and when you need a sexual health check. The recommendations given to you will be verified by our panel of healthcare professionals. This function allows you to know your status to keep yourself and your sexual partners safe and protected.

Reminders:
Generally speaking, people don’t have to attend sexual health checks all of the time and it can be difficult to know exactly when you should. Thanks to the clever algorithm within the Geni app it will hook-up with your mobile phone’s default calendar and create a handy reminder to let you know when you should consider booking a sexual health check.
