Godus 4+

The game looks so beautiful and creatively built that I was surprised when this game turned out to be free. The amount of work put into this game seems so insanely big.
I played this game years ago and I thought that the game was insanely buggy and that I was afraid that they stopped updating the game for a while. Now I redownloaded it and Im honestly glad I did because they are finally fixing everything bit by bit. Hopefully the game with stay open <3

For those complaining about ‘oh I want to play stop pricing everything tho’ of course they're gonna price everything because they need the money to continue working. They don't work for free; they have families and homes to take care of and games require years to complete. Plus its not necessary to use the gems, its just a plus.

Godus is so gorgeous to look at and play with. I love how the land reacts to my touch, letting me sculpt it into a work of art. The little people are adorable, too - I have found myself getting rather attached to them. Most of the way through the Homeworld land, I am now close to the rival village and I hope I can save its people as well as my own.

The game isn’t without its flaws. The controls can be (ironically) a bit difficult on a touch screen, at least in terms of accuracy, causing loss of energy by stretching land that was meant to shrink or vice-versa. The holy trees, which cost energy to plant, are not immune to being accidentally erased (they should be permanent and movable, like the monuments). By far the biggest irritation is that unless you make an in-app purchase, you may be shown an unsolicited ad if you go to the upgrades menu. Basically, if you intend to play Godus, be prepared to shell out a few bucks or the random ads will drive you mad… but I enjoy the gameplay so much that for me, the purchase was worth it.

UPDATE: Playing Godus for the third time (ran out of land in both Homeworld and Weyworld) and the ads are back. Loooong frequent ads! I was ad-free, and I’m signed in, so why the ads? It’s ruining the gameplay.

This is hands down the best game of its kind. I think it needs a couple of tweaks tho. So, here’s my constructive feedback. Now I have some momentum the inflation of out of control. Just paid $32K for a mining settlement. Makes it hard to stay ahead and use belief to best advantage. Make the ore easier to see when it’s ready to collect. Brighter or more distinct colour? Voyages are hard! Overview map (icon) would be welcomed! Auto belief collection. I have several shrines BUT they have such a small collection radius it’s not worth the bother. Can this be increased? My biggest gripe is... tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap etc. It makes for tedious gameplay. Killed off all the Astari in Homeworld and miss the little guys. Had only intended to cull their population. Unfortunately Weyworld is unfinished :(
