I have been using Gofar for about 8 months while it is great for logging trips and easily seperate business & personal use it has few issues. Every now and then it fails to connect to Bluetooth on phone. At time it is connected yet does not record the route on the map nor acceleration & braking info. These issues have started about 5 to 6 weeks ago. Thought this update would fix it unfortunately not. Today I did 6 trips, 3 worked fine & 3 did not.

Recent update did not fix locations!

The most recent update on the 11th of April 2018 still has not fixed the locations issue. It still does not show correct start and end locations. When this issue will be fixed is anyone guess but for a log book it is essential information which is still not provided with the advertised notes. For the most part the app works. However there are things that needs fixing, such as locations. All good and well to log distance traveled but not much point if the location never changes. It should show suburb to suburb. This does not work at all. It will sometimes show the same start and Finnish suburb or just show the word destination. For ATO logbook entries this is a must. So no point using it for logbook entries until this is fixed. Even if you could add an edit to the location. At least that way if it picks up the wrong location you can change it to the correct location by typing it in. Also found a major glitch in the software. When you go into an entry and try to add a tag, the app crashes big time. This needs to be fixed.

For location, we think your issue may be due to your iPhone location settings. Please go to your iPhone Settings->Privicy->Location Services->And select 'ALWAYS' for GOFAR.Selecting Always - allows the application to access location information while in the background. Decent app needs improvements

I have been using the paid product for over 6 months now. While its is very convenient to log odo, fuel and trip tags , there are some issues.1 :- connectivity issues. Bluetooth pairing often gets crashed making the dongle not communicating to the app and takes multiple app restarts to fix it.2.let’s say you have a scenario where you car you are driving a replacement car while your car is getting repaired. As soon as you add secondary car in the app if automatically takes your primary car off the subscription limiting your ability to access the primary car’s trip data. When you contact support they would delete the new temp car from system so trips taken on that is gone.3. I have realised recently that despite the trips being marked as personal, it is still showing as business trips when generated through business export. Also when exporting the report, the odometer total doesn’t always add up to what total number says on top of the report.4. If you’re doing some sort of parcel delivery / food delivery which requires multiple power off and on, then it struggle to keep up with the short trip.5. They only have email support which makes things harder to explain over the email thread. There is no call support.

Regarding point 4 of your feedback, the app has a 'Split Trip' functionality that you can use to force a new trip to start immediately - perfect for the scenario you just described. You can access it on the app's home screen while a trip is being recorded. Regarding point 5 - our customer support tried calling you multiple times but unfortunately could not reach you.

Why so many nick names taken
G’day, awesome app to use and understand. The downfall is the app doesn’t have a back capture facility. I made a long round trip only to find the app didn’t log the return journey. So it automatically logged where I left from and arriving home but no detail in btw. I found the app had not automatically started when I started the car on the return and only realised when I arrived home and went to log it as a work trip. Being unable to edit the detail and add the trip distance in the app meant I’m out approx 250ks for the return journey. So I am more careful now to check the app is running before I leave every location which is a pain if I’m in a hurry. Otherwise the app is great and works well.

G’day, awesome app to use and understand. The downfall is the app doesn’t have a back capture facility. I made a long round trip only to find the app didn’t log the return journey. So it automatically logged where I left from and arriving home but no detail in btw. I found the app had not automatically started when I started the car on the return and only realised when I arrived home and went to log it as a work trip. Being unable to edit the detail and add the trip distance in the app meant I’m out approx 250ks for the return journey. So I am more careful now to check the app is running before I leave every location which is a pain if I’m in a hurry. Otherwise the app is great and works well.
