Gold and Goblins: Idle Games 4+

My only complaint is the events, I love the 3 or 5 day events but I find the 1 day events to be a total waste of time. Living in Australia means that the events always start around 2:00am so that by the time the average person gets up at least a quarter of the 1 day event has already passed & then by the time you get up the next morning there’s only about an hour left to play it, meaning really we only get to play around half of the event. I truly love this game & am up to Mine 71 & it takes forever to get enough cards etc to level them up. If you scrapped the 1 day events & did a 3 day event followed by a 5 or 7 day event, it would be the perfect game. I really want to give 5 stars but for the reasons above I have to go 4 stars.

EDIT: I have lowered my star rating, yesterday this game took $50 from my account in 2 transactions, unauthorised. I made some purchases for the Halloween event and had no intention of making any further purchases, then I received an email from Apple from the 9th Nov for 2 purchases which I did not authorise. This situation happened with a farming game I used to play. I’m not happy that now once again I have to cancel my card just because I decided to support a game I enjoyed playing. Very disappointing.

To the devs of this game - why ruin someone’s enjoyment by basically stealing from them, how many others has this happened to? I had rated this game 5 stars (see above) but now dropped it to 1, I would make it zero if I could. I will no longer play any game that this company has made. This practice has got to stop. BTW I have never purchased a subscription, the previous purchases were one off so that excuse won’t hold.

So the game is: you use gold to buy goblins that will mine more gold that can be used to unlock forges that make even more gold. Then, with that gold, you can buy more goblins, to mine gold quicker to upgrade those forges so they nake more money to buy more goblins… get the picture?

And then… after grinding to clear each mine, EVERYTHING resets to 0 when you move to the next one… including your gold reserves, goblins and forges you’ve invested into. I have no idea why the developers thought that was better than working out a way to stack your investments as your progress further. You know, as a reward for all the grinding…The next mine is no different to the previous except there’s slightly more things to mine and maybe one or two extra forges to unlock but what’s the point? Once you clear it, you’ll lose it all once more only to get to the next one and repeat the whole process from the ground up yet again. There’s no real lasting reward or anything to progress towards in the big picture to make the game worthwhile and satisfying: all grind, no reward.

I downloaded it because of an ad I saw - which, as usual, didnt accurately portray true gameplay - then I ended up deleting it after 5-15min of gameplay. I got through 4 mines in that time and it felt like i repeated the same level over and over with just a tiny bit more work to be completed each time.

Gave it 3 stars instead of 1 because the animation is great and the game has potential to be great.

But you still have useful bonuses from your previous mines: cards, elixirs, and upgraded technologies. So with each new mine cleared, you become stronger.
