Brilliant!
This has improved my game so much. Estimating distances is just another thing to get wrong. This app takes the guesswork of that out and leaves you just selecting the right club for that distance.
Plus keeping track of scores is nice because if you’re new like me, those scores are high.
And the shot tracking is great to review your game after the event and get a better feel of real average distances you can hit each club (clubs don’t go as far on the course as they do at the driving range.)
Plus my wife and Dad can watch my game unfold live on a score card and on a map!

New version considerably worse
In the latest version of the app (July 2022) the developers have removed the group round feature and replaced it with live leaderboards.
Despite the claims made in the version notes, this was a terrible decision. In the previous version (group rounds) you could see your mates hole-by-hole score in the app during the round. Now, I can’t figure out how to do that at all. It seems you can do it at the end of the round with about 5 convoluted steps and navigating out of the app to an in-app launched webpage.
I still find the app pretty good for individual play at shot tracking, but this significant backwards step suggests to me that the developers have lost the plot. My recommendation is to look elsewhere if group play is your preferred mode.
How good is golf pad app.
I’ve been using this app for 2 weeks now after trying several other apps. Nothing I had tried came close to golf pad . The more I use it the easier it gets plus very draining of my Apple Watch. Well done to the developers. A1 product.
