I've been using Fitbit for years. It has many positives. But some basic things need to be fixed. Most crucially, using Fitbit currently means manually clearing your Cardio Load data every fortnight or so, otherwise you will be nagged with messages which don't reflect your exercise goals, physical threshold, or daily capacity. I am disabled, and it is incredibly disheartening to get messages berating me for not being active enough, when I'm as active as is possible for me. Beyond that, Cardio Load is useless as an indicator, even by the measures it's using; the other day, I got a pop-up saying I was overdoing it and needed to rest for a day, and immediately after closing that message, another pop-up said I wasn't working hard enough and needed to exercise hard that day, otherwise I would be failing in "my" fitness goals. (AKA the goals Cardio Load has decided I should have.) Cardio Load needs to be made optional. It is flawed, frustrating, and unnecessary. Fitbit has a lot of good things going for it, especially the sleep tracking. Just make Cardio Load optional and the overall user experience will be way improved. Please.
Update 2.53 screwy

The app use to be essentially what kept my weight loss goals focused BIG TIME! I am so disappointed in whoever owns Fitbit especially as the challenges have gone. Those challenges helped me reach goals and they only need be changed not taken away completely. And I still haven’t seen appropriate icons relating to depression and other issues especially focusing on women going through menopause. We are 50% of the population you know? SO DISAPPOINTED!!!Since my last review I have seen no real change to my feedback this is disappointing and disrespectful to those of us who just want to be able to express ourselves more accurately. Fore instance you don’t have a sad 🥹🥲mood for moods stressed neutral calm and calmer come no where close to sad. I mean what about when I have just been to a funeral I’m not calm or stressed I’m sad or happy 😊 and relieved faces😅look like. Why do we need them because I will miss them, or maybe I am happy or relieved they’re not in pain anymore and at peace. Jeez way to let me down. You haven’t even changed your women’s regular health episodes.Try Harder especially for women 😩🙂↕️ there’s no way I am the only one who’s disappointed in this lack of change.
Great app, but not recommended for children
A_J_pineapple
Hello!First of all, Fitbits are a great asset to life and I highly recommend getting one. However, there are a few downsides to the app. While it has great feedback and suggestions on your daily exercising achievements, this app is not very good for young children. It is really good for young adults and old, but children would need a parent’s supervision using this app. It has community posts, which I think is great, but it is not good for kids to be chatting with much older adults. The kids could give private information away to them, like phone numbers or passwords, or the adults could abuse the children. The only other thing I’m worried about for children is that they could send random people friend requests or other people could send them friend requests and they accept. If they do accept, that means that their friends could privately chat with them, not necessarily about fitness goals. Otherwise, if you are an adult looking at this app and wondering if you should get a Fitbit or not, you should totally go for it because it has amazing results. Thanks for reading my review!
Terrible battery life
Tina Ionic
My husband bought me my Fitbit Ionic shortly before Christmas last year. He got it for the same obvious reasons people buy a Fitbit, but also because he’s been having some serious health issues and I was struggling to leave him to go to work as I was concerned if he tried to contact me in case of an emergency that I wouldn’t hear my phone. I synced my Ionic with my cheapie iPhone SE and it worked beautifully for a few months, then there was an update and the notifications stopped working, (during this time I did receive an urgent message from my partner, it was dumb luck I had my phone in my hand because I didn’t get a notification) I eventually gave up trying to get it to work so went back to using my iPhone 6, notifications work just fine now. A further few months down the track out of the blue following an update I found I needed to charge my Fitbit only 24 hours after I’d last charged it (I was charging every 3-4 days) that was fine, every 24 hours, annoying but fine. We’ve since had yet another update and the battery life is now just appalling. I have to charge my watch twice in one day. I actually have to take my charger to work and charge my watch otherwise I don’t even get a full work day out of it. Please. Whatever you’ve done, undo it.
Performance improvements and bug fixes.
