Browse movies and TV episodes from across your streaming apps, all in one place and organised into topics and genres. Discover new things with recommendations based on what you love and what’s trending across the services that you already have access to. Search for titles to see which apps are streaming them.
Create a list for all your discoveries
Add interesting shows and movies to your watchlist to keep track of your new discoveries and view them later. The watchlist is shared across your devices, so you can even add to your watchlist from your TV or phone and laptop through Search on any browser.
Take your favourites on the go
Your recommendations, library and watchlist go with you wherever you go, whether it is out of the front door or just to the other room. Start streaming straight on your mobile device, or download your previously purchased entertainment from your library to watch when you're not connected.
Use your phone as your Google TV/Android TV remote
With a remote built straight into the app, you can find something great to watch even when the couch has eaten your remote. And you can use your phone’s keyboard to quickly type complicated passwords, movie names or search terms on your Google TV or other Android TV OS device

Why does this really exist?
I understand there a project teams over at Google working on many different things but having another app that seems redundant in the Google universe just muddys it all.
There's no other point to this but to create a watchlist and view only the selected movies you have either purchased or have the suitable streaming services for.
I have 11 seperate Google apps on my phone which is really silly as something like the assistant or Google home could provide this app feature in the existing tabs.
It would be nice to be able to cast the Chromecast HD to my old Chromecast so it saves me having to by another more up to date Chromecast with an interface.
Please standardise a few things. It's getting way over the top with all these mish mash of settings and redundant features.
Stop making old hardware obsolete and further electronic garbage when the functionality could be updated on older chromecasts
App that doesn’t work
Very glitchy, the download feature doesn’t work and won’t let movies play offline and still uses streaming data when fully downloaded (glitching and pause if if you have a poor connection). Subtitles don’t work. Worst of all customer support ignore any requests. Was unable to watch a movie that we rented due to the very reasons above and since have not received a refund.
