I use this app every time I need to make an appointment with my doctor. It is quick, painless, and reliable. It allows you to save the appointment to your calendar, it allows you to save favourite doctors so you don’t have to go through all practitioners to find your one, there’s only one thing I would ask and that is that more practitioners sign up to this app. Unfortunately I have to use another app to access another doctor as they don’t register with this one. Today I discovered yet a third online booking tool for yet another practitioner in Weston. I just wish they would all use the one app.
Awful and useless
My clinic just switched to this app from a fantastic app (GP4Me) that had no issues. Also other medical bookings apps like HotDoc, HealthEngine, Appointuit etc never any issues. You’d think Sonic a multi billion dollar company could afford decent web developers to make an app that works with good functionality. Apparently not.
This app has so many problems. The old app my clinic used would bring up all the doctors in a row and all their appointment each day for the week so you could pick and choose which suited best. This app you can only look at one doctor and one day at a time. I try to make an appointment in 2 weeks and it says every slot is full (even where the doctor has 20 appointment available for the day). I’ve force closed and updated the app and still doesn’t work. If I am looking at December there are appointments then click into January it says there are no slots available for any doctor then I go back to December and it now says the same no slots available for anyone on any day so I have to force close and restart.
Honestly this is just not user friendly at all. Go review the GP4Me functionality and actually make this app worthwhile using. Previously I’d never have to phone up I could just use the app to manage all my appointments which is convenient for me and the clinic, since the clinic switched to this app I’ve had to phone to make appointments 3 times because it just doesn’t work. So what is the point?
Inaccessibility equals zero for blind and vision impaired
In the last 12 months, I have written a very complimentary email to the developers of the GP for me app congratulating them on such an accessible mobile app. I was able to quickly and easily book an appointment or change surgeries if I was travelling.
I have just spent two hours bouncing between Safari and the app and have found so many and labelled elements, links which will not read, and if you have access to my so-called sensitive information you will be able to see just exactly how many times I have tried to login. Booking the appointment was a case of closing my eyes and hoping for the best if you can excuse the pun. I strongly suggest the web developers go and read the WCAG and I wish to be contacted about this matter within the next 14 days. As there are so many surgeries run by this organisation who have chosen your app, it would be a case of having to go through the human rights commission to have this fixed. I would much prefer to avoid this option.
