Fun for pedants
An easy to master game that uses colour to help the player distinguish the parts of speech. Invaluable to have read the choices that were made about contentious issues, like verbs including auxiliary and modal verbs, before starting to play. Well worth a try.
A game for consolidating
This is a great game for those who already have some grammar basics but are wanting to consolidate their knowledge. The game itself is quite simple, but when you're identifying all the different components of a complex sentence, you don't need it to be too tricky. I had some issues with pausing games, but as it is not a highly complex game of strategy, this is not a huge issue.
My one criticism is that there is no way of extending your understanding of the purpose or function of a particular component. It would be great if you could side step from the game to learn more about what a participle, adverb or preposition is before then having to identify it in a sentence. It feels a bit hit and miss if you don't have prior knowledge.
I love it. Great for practising what I have learned. It is multi level, so I can play with my high school sons as well!
