Used to buy a Dyson recently now selling much loved item. Don't use credit cards so I find this more suited. Since then at the start of 2017 I have posted nearly 30 ads. I have sold half with no fuss even 2 spare 2nd hand fans I had for $100 they cost me nothing. I've also sold a much loved bike and 5 other without a problem even one a person who bought my one left his old behind. I do find it stupid that I can't pay for more attention to my adds by Apple Pay after all that's why I use this and not the other company which makes profit. I had a lot of expenses this month due to a sickness with my youngest daughter without gumtree I would not have survived. Than Gumtree. Haven’t used for a year but sold about $20 nice I Terens last year so as you can see above. I’m back with more gem. Latest report 3 years on I have purchased items but found homes for a variety of fish and bric-a brac. I sold a picture in Houn Pine this morning and I had the add for 3 years and though a few wanted it finally an Asian lady bought the ocean boats at Victoria Docks and I thought it would be some Tasmanian as the background shows the small city of the 70s Casino and the snow capes table top mountain. I thought a sailor even. Well it sold. I have helped someone though I dropped my price . Wish I had a debit card for more recognition and have had a lot of people cutting me down. 90% of the customers are cool but there’s some scammers out there and I’m a man . Well thanks gum tree Hands are wet working with fish call you in 30 minutes have homes a a lot of nice things I have bought or been given and as you get older you don’t want to throw it out.

I’ve only recently created & started using my own GumTree account & so far, I absolutely love it & think the app is great ...except that whenever I switch apps to share a link or anything else, even if it’s literally for a matter of a few seconds, then when I switch back to the GumTree app, it totally refreshes so I loose where I was up to in my search & have to wait for the app to reload as if I’m opening it for the first time & then do my search again & find where I was up to... This isn’t happening cause I’m “totally closing the app off” either, I’m talking about when I simply leave GumTree running in the background for a second just so I can quickly copy, paste & send a link for an ad to my partner in our messaging app, it happens EVERY time & it’s super annoying... I’ve looked through the app settings & can’t find anything to change to make this stop, I’ve also got “background app refresh” switched on in my iPhone settings too, so I can’t think of any way to possibly fix this & it doesn’t happen with any other apps, not even other Auction & Buying apps, it’s super frustrating & has been making me just give up looking at certain times, my partner & I are rebuilding a car so when we’re looking for parts, I’m always wanting to share a lot of links for ads to him for him to take a look at, other than that, the app is great, it’s just that one flaw that’s super frustrating!!

Disappointed with the more recent updates from gumtree over the years. Past couple of years the paid ads, (eg Apple Music, Disney Plus, Commbank etc etc) have been popping up often in the search results you’ve looked up eg, Toyota Corolla or Golf clubs etc etc. These pop-up ads seem to open while even slightly swiping over the window whilst scrolling through other local listings you’ve searched for. Makes it NEAR IMPOSSIBLE to use, constantly opening pop-up websites in safari. Increasingly bad this past few months with the Apple Music adverts which opens the webpage link, then takes you over to the Apple Music app as well a few seconds after. Absolutely terrible design which is infuriating to use. With one of these ads every 10 local listings or so in the search results makes me genuinely angry and annoyed. I realise it’s probably done intentionally so these paid ads gumtree places gets more “clicks” so their ad rates do better so they get paid more by these big brands advertising on here. But it ruins this whole app and otherwise good experience… Would definitely throw the not so tech savvy off, as it takes you away from the app and into other apps and windows etc etc. People may fall victim into buying into things they don’t won’t with these dodgy pop ups. I’m conclusion, app works great, however these commercial ads sour my experience and genuine make it unusable whilst searching through local listings. For this reason, stick to Facebook marketplace.

Myself and another person I know have both experienced an issue where upon posting an ad, we receive a notification saying our ad might take a few minutes to become live. We wait until the next day, it’s still not there, no draft, no record, we have to rewrite and submit the entire ad. This happens a few times, all of a sudden we’ve spent an hour doing something that should have taken 5 minutes. Luckily my ad posted... eventually. My friend however had to contact support in which he was told that if he wanted to post an ad he had to use a desperate computer to the one I was using. He was also very rude and struggled to comprehend and take accountability for the issue on Gumtree’s behalf and instead tried to pin it back on me saying it’s our fault for using the same device for two separate accounts on a shared computer. How ridiculous. I hope the issue is actually reported so it doesn’t happen to anyone else.
