I love the simplicity, function and generosity of this app. It amazes me that this developer is still offering this as a lifetime purchase for such a truly great app. I’ve had it for years and it must’ve disappeared off my phone in a change in device or phase of life. I rediscovered it recently. I had bought the platinum edition originally, which is still being honoured without any extra payment and the app is still being actively updated! It lists all exercises, equipment and the settings from adjusting rest times to the colour of the app is all you could ever want! The animations and the heat map of the muscle groups recruited is really nicely done and genuinely helpful. There are no bugs I’ve come across. I really like the interface and feel of the app in general. I went back to the original website to try to contribute money to the developer in gratitude. Other workout apps are usually asking for high monthly subscriptions when they are less functional, aesthetically noisy, self promoting and often involve annoying alerts you can’t switch off. I am keen to support these rare developers those who create and maintain GymBook. One of the suggestions on the website to support this app is to write a review so here we are, thank you GymBook! 😊🙏🏻🙏🏻

Hi jojomacleod – Thank you so much for this thoughtful and generous review. It’s really great to hear that the app has continued to serve you well over the years and that the one-time purchase is still appreciated. Support like this truly makes a difference. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience! 😊❤️
Best workout utility ever and at a reasonable price.

Synopsis: Try the free app for yourself. Practically a complete app in itself and well worth it. You’ll probably upgrade shortly after with the 10 aud upgrade price.Full Review: Only started using this app recently but I am extremely impressed with the design. The free version alone is a very powerful app but I seriously recommend upgrading.Every workout you create shows a heat map of the muscles you are working which makes it easy when you are mapping out your workout. For newcomers to the gym world, they have very simple animations to their preloaded workouts that make learn easy. I feel this would make starting gym a less anxiety ridden experience and I think if I had it I wouldn’t have felt so self conscious when I started. The system of logging workouts is amazing too. Each muscle group has logs that can be compared on a graph from as short as 1 week and up to 5 years so it’s perfect for the long running gym enthusiast. For the body builders out there, there is also logging systems of all body sizes and other physiological measurements like body fat/water and muscle mass so that you can accurately watch your growth and work towards competition season or for your own personal self confidence. There’s a couple other interesting features I liked which is changing the colour schemes of the app like, light/dark mode, changing the theme colour and also the app icon. Just nice little touches the developers decided to put on top to show the they like going the extra mile in their design.Overall the app is extremely simplistic, easy to navigate and a extremely powerful utility.

Thanks a lot for your very nice review! 😊
Best featured free workout log app!

The free version has all the essentials covered: a good base set of exercises, unlimited workouts, and graphs to track your progress. You can add your own exercises and set which muscle groups are being worked out to produce a cool heat map summary at the end. The app is beautifully designed, with helpful tips on how to use the app and simple animations showing how to perform each exercise.I was so impressed with the free version that I bought the very reasonably priced Platinum one-time upgrade just to support the developer. I love that it’s not tied to a subscription unlike many other apps out there. Kudos to the developer for making something that is head and shoulders above the dozen other workout log apps that I tried before settling on this one.
A great app, improvements please

Edit: How does one turn off the auto backup feature in settings?? It’s great that you have created an auto backup feature, but what if people don’t want to backup automatically? Please give people the option to turn this off if not needed! It’s a good app, and I appreciate the features, the one time payment (and No horrible money-sucking subscriptions!!) simplicity and animated illustrations, there are although 3 things that I feel should be updated-- Under the exercises or machine workouts listed in the list, it seems a fair amount of exercises are missing, such as needing more Ab machine workouts and Ab exercises? And where is the biking/stairs/elliptical training additions? And the jogging/cardio features are right at the bottom of the list when trying to add a new workout routine, along with the app not keeping where I left off each time I go to add a new workout exercise into a list/routine?- Lastly, what would be great to see is the diagram of body parts worked (that is already listed when a workout is completed in the summary) but actually shown on the screen while I workout, or a button to press to bring it up? And the ability to save the completed summary that pops up after completing a workout, into a list so that we can view the summaries later? Thanks and please keep up the great work.
