After the update, your non-custom exercises will be automatically populated with the correct equipment. Furthermore, in the future, GymBook might leverage this to offer more functionalities. If you have any suggestions in this regard, please feel free to reach out!

⎯ 6.1.80
Updated GymBook for iOS 17 and watchOS 10.

IMPORTANT: Discontinued support for watchOS 6; please do not update if you want to use GymBook for Apple Watch with an Apple Watch running watchOS 6.

In addition, on watchOS 10 we have completely redesigned and improved the logging experience. The logging screen now offers a brand new vertical tab navigation, with which you can access the most important screens by vertically moving through them. You will recognize this navigation paradigm from some of Apple's apps on watchOS 10.
Also new on GymBook for Apple Watch:
- Exercise image
- Workout is not reset when getting new data
- Reuse "old" workouts if workouts of today are not available (please still make sure to periodically sync your data with GymBook on your iPhone, to avoid data loss)
We have been using the new version of GymBook for Apple Watch for a while now and, after a first adjustment workout, we now truly love it. We hope you do too!

We work really hard to improve GymBook and make your workout experience better. Do you want to support the further development of GymBook? Please consider providing a 5-star rating in the App Store, which really helps in improving the visibility of the app and gives us a motivation boost:-). And if there is something you don't like about GymBook, please let us know using the feedback function in the app. Many thanks!

Best featured free workout log app!

The free version has all the essentials covered: a good base set of exercises, unlimited workouts, and graphs to track your progress. You can add your own exercises and set which muscle groups are being worked out to produce a cool heat map summary at the end. The app is beautifully designed, with helpful tips on how to use the app and simple animations showing how to perform each exercise.

I was so impressed with the free version that I bought the very reasonably priced Platinum one-time upgrade just to support the developer. I love that it’s not tied to a subscription unlike many other apps out there. Kudos to the developer for making something that is head and shoulders above the dozen other workout log apps that I tried before settling on this one.

A great app, improvements please

Edit: How does one turn off the auto backup feature in settings?? It’s great that you have created an auto backup feature, but what if people don’t want to backup automatically? Please give people the option to turn this off if not needed!

It’s a good app, and I appreciate the features, the one time payment (and No horrible money-sucking subscriptions!!) simplicity and animated illustrations, there are although 3 things that I feel should be updated-

- Under the exercises or machine workouts listed in the list, it seems a fair amount of exercises are missing, such as needing more Ab machine workouts and Ab exercises? And where is the biking/stairs/elliptical training additions?

And the jogging/cardio features are right at the bottom of the list when trying to add a new workout routine, along with the app not keeping where I left off each time I go to add a new workout exercise into a list/routine?

- Lastly, what would be great to see is the diagram of body parts worked (that is already listed when a workout is completed in the summary) but actually shown on the screen while I workout, or a button to press to bring it up? And the ability to save the completed summary that pops up after completing a workout, into a list so that we can view the summaries later?

Thanks and please keep up the great work.

Developer Response ,

Hi and thanks for your feedback - To import a backup back into GymBook, access the backup on your target device, select the backup database file and afterwards tap on 'Copy to GymBook'. GymBook must obviously be installed on the target device for this to work. Please feel free to reach out to our support via email in case you need help sorting out the issue.

Also, we added your requests to our list of features and will consider all of them for future releases.

One of the best gym tracking apps

Used this for a week to make sure I’ve run a full week routine into it and hands down, the best tracking app for gym workouts so far. If you’re like me and appreciate being able to review progress through data, this app is for you! It provides a simple and enough features to configure/customise your workout program with a clean minimalist UI feel without unnecessary distractions (and no ads!), I would highly recommend checking this app out. Can’t wait to see what new features are on the roadmap - eg. a web portal for those who want to do it all on a desktop/laptop ;)
