From the Developer's Desk:
Life should be as delightful as playing a game, filled with enthusiasm and zest.

When I was fresh out of university, I dove into TED Talks, seeking life's purpose and fresh perspectives. A talk titled "Games Change the World" caught my eye. "Aren't games just for fun?" I pondered, clicking on the video. It was a discourse by the author of "Reality Is Broken." She emphasised how gamers, engrossed in virtual realms, feel genuine happiness from achievements there. So why do we struggle to find the same fulfilment in our real-world tasks?

This revelation made me think. Often, we abandon activities like running or reading because immediate gratification is missing. Our minds crave instant rewards. I designed this app to mirror the instant feedback of games, fuelling your journey towards achieving goals and cementing good habits.

If Sisyphus got upgrades and rewards every time he pushed his boulder, perhaps his task wouldn't seem so endless?

Xp for IRL

Habits are hard to start and even harder to keep going. I’ve been using Habicat to remind myself about completing my habits, to track how often I do them, and to keep myself accountable. It works very well, my little character levels up, he gains gear and stats as well. It’s a fun little reward system, and I don’t feel like cheating on my habits just to get ahead. My little guy doesn’t do anything, but that’s perfect.
I feel like I’m gaining Xp through doing life!

Developer Response ,

I'm glad Habicat could help you build habits~
