‣ Need to quickly check your surroundings? Quick camera check.
‣ Need a view of your camera for when you're streaming or recording your screen? Quick camera check and drag the window around.
‣ Need to check your face because you're gorgeous? Quick camera check.

Want more? Good thing for Hand Mirror Plus:
It's a one-time purchase that will unlock all past, present, and future features added to the app, like:
‣ Mic Check: You already know you look good, but can people hear you? Check your microphone levels directly from Hand Mirror
‣ Reactions Playground: Custom triggers for all of the new macOS Sonoma Reactions for some fun screenshots
‣ Smart Window: Fully customizable, resizable, positioned window
‣ Window Masks: Zoom, crop, tweak border radius, make your camera view just like you like it
‣ Custom position: Want to trigger the window right below your camera, pick where the window appears
‣ Notch Trigger: If you're on a compatible device, you can click right on the camera housing area to trigger Hand Mirror
‣ Custom App Icons and Menu Bar Icons: Make the Menu Bar icon match your camera and or your taste

_____

This app does not record, collect, or send your data anywhere — for three reasons:
1. There's absolutely no need, it's just a feed of your own web camera.
2. I wouldn't do that, that's just creepy.
3. And most importantly: I don't even have the programming skills to do that. Seriously, but thanks for thinking that I did!

What’s New

Version 3.1

• Rotate Video: new option for you fancy lads who have a camera sideways, you fancy.
• Lock Aspect Ratio: new option for when resizing but you want to make sure you're not cropping.
• Improved System Setting audio input handling.
• There's a new option to "Extend Content to Arrow Tip" for the Popover look, I think it looks nicer!
• Fixed a bug where Reactions would turn itself on
• After 4 years, Hand Mirror will politely ask if you'd like to leave a review, just the one time, if you're using it a lot. I hope it's okay, and that I've earned it!

Neat, simple, does one job well

If you do many Zoom/Teams calls etc this is a great way to preview and check the image without having to launch the main apps. Just buy it!

Automatically updated to lock a feature behind a paywall

The app automatically updated itself. I came back to my computer to find that a feature had been removed and locked behind a paywall. Even worse, I now have to endure literal advertisements within the app. Advertisements for Hand Mirror Plus.

Scummy developer worth boycotting.

Developer Response ,

I'm really sorry, it pains me to hear this.
The app update itself most likely because you have "Automatic Updates" App Store setting turned on, unfortunately this was out of my control. The feature you mentioned being remove (3 alternate icons) are restored in the next update (coming out later today), and I don't understand what you mean by advertisements? There's a new settings tab with the new features added, which are included as part of an in-app purchase. No notifications, no "ads". Can you help me understand?

"Scummy developer worth boycotting" seems a bit hateful and unnecessary, I'm just trying to write useful fun software for the Mac, and I'm still providing all the same value for free!
