Hectare field area measure GPS 4+

Thinks you’ve finished plotting the area about 3 seconds after you start. Waste of time

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Hectare.app automatically finishes a track if the area is at least 0.01ha and if you are back at the start. Due to the way GPS works it might take some time for your phone to pick up the correct location and during that time your position will jump a lot. This jumping can cause Hectare.app to incorrectly "think" you've finished your recording because you're back at the beginning. You can see the jumping behaviour in Apple Maps or Google Maps, too. Once your iPhone has a good enough location, the problem should be gone in Hectare.app, too.

As the other reviewer wrote, it stopped plotting at the first waypoint (corner of the land parcel). Second attempt I was charged $49.99, and still only calculated the area that I walked along one side of the entire rectangular block.

An absolute ripoff. The fact that they charge for the second and subsequent attempt is not advised when advertised. Apple should delete these - it is criminal to falsely promote a product.

Sorry for the confusion. As long as the GPS Signal is weak it might happen that the recorded location jumps around quite significantly. That happens especially when the iPhone starts using the GPS signal. Once that signal is solid, it shouldn't jump. Hectare.app doesn't charge for recording attempts. You can create as many recordings as you like. What Hectare.app is charging for is when you want this recording to show the area size. You can do this for free for one recording it's up to you which recording you choose for that. My apologies if that concept is not explained clearly enough in the app. If Hectare.app doesn't compute the area for a recording correctly, please send that recording to me via mail and I'll look into fixing the computation.
