HelloChinese - Learn Chinese 4+

Amazing app!!

This app is so well designed. I appreciate the tips and notes section before each subject. I love how it covers the basics, slowly integrates new words with ones already learned. The live videos of Chinese speakers, photos, how to read the text, write text and speak it - pinpoint which word in particular you say incorrect and focuses on correcting it. I got confused by Tā and Tā being both he and she however I realised that the written language differentiates the too which made it very obvious. The memory games also to train on. I paid for the premium because I am super impressed at the way this app has been designed. User friendly, no need to wait for lives or energy to keep playing. To the team that created this app, well done! Great job and I’m sure in 3 months I’ll be fluent ;) I really cannot speak more highly of such an app..I’m spreading the word to anyone who will listen.

I’m a little learner

I had this huge urge to learn some Chinese but so scared on where to start without the fees. So far this app is a lot of fun and does not restrict me from getting to know the app. I feel like I can already, day three, understand some basics of language but not yet speak it. It’s section by section making learning fun! Will be paying for the subscription as I’m very satisfied ✨My only pointer for help is the videos that demonstrate what the sentences sound like, such as the live videos, are either too fast or what local Chinese speakers sound like - it’s sometimes tricky to translate. Still the best learning app and telling all my friends I’m learning Chinese ☺️

HelloChinese is good!

HelloChinese is a good app for anyone who wants to learn Chinese. I myself am in a large class struggling to learn, and this has really helped me. I like how it uses words you have learnt before in sentences, though perhaps could do a little more of this to make sure you remember what the word means in future. It gets irritating when it tells you that you must purchase premium to do such and such, but at the same time they need to make money and there are only certain features that need this. Possibly add some native speaker videos to non-premium just to help others who are struggling, but overall is a good app for learning Chinese.

P.S. Also maybe add some places where you can choose the topics you learn to help people who have already learnt a little bit of Chinese. Good app!

If you seek courses that are completely free, kindly switch to the "old course" where everything is free, and you can use the old course to learn up to HSK3. It has native speaker videos in the course too.
As for a place to review what you learned in each topic, go to Practice tab and there's an "already learned" feature where you can browse everything you've learned by topic or by mastery score.
