Great idea but has shortcomings.
This is a great idea but has some shortcomings.
1. The spell checker should be removed from the vehicle registration field in notes. I typed in GUH and it was corrected to HUH. This could be fatal to a search for an abductor. It doesn’t correct when you are in the field, only once you have moved to another field.
2. The GPS coordinates in my test message were a 3 minute walk from where the phone actually is. Where someone is being held hostage in a fixed location a police cordon could still help find the person, hopefully before some harm comes to them. However, if they were in a moving vehicle to be so far off would be more a problem.
GPS location is inaccurate
Good app in theory but the GPS location in the text is not very accurate
Spell check needs to be removed
I’ve tested this app out before asking my son to download it.
One massive problem is that the spell check changes the license plate details. Obviously, the letters of the majority of license plates aren’t an actual word, and they were corrected every time I tried with random numbers I could see in the car park.
Even if the other details are filled in correctly, the actual car would be overlooked because it has the “wrong” license plate. I think that would be more dangerous than *only* having all the other details. Please fix this, it will benefit anyone who has the misfortune to need it.
