Description
Horror in the Darkness is an exploration and puzzle solving adventure game inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft, where players explore and investigate, putting together clues and solve puzzles to uncover the secrets of Wentsire Manor. It is a mobile phone adaption of the classic text-based adventure genre, similar to the point-and-click classics. The game combines a bleak environment and an sense of underlying dread with moments of comedy to keep you entertained.
Fresh back from the horrors of World War 2, our protagonist was working as a private investigator. Not hugely successful, but it paid the bills. Mostly. But when the widow of his old friend needed his help nothing could have prepared him for the bizarre and uncanny events that were about to unfold.

Ratings and Reviews
Fun and interesting
Could use some more work in terms of directions, it can get a little confusing with north south east and west it may be better to say right left forward and back. Other than that it was a fun interactive game that could use a little more of a developed storyline but had tasks that were decently easy to work out. Didn't end up using all the items though so not sure if I missed stuff I was supposed to be doing ?

Thank you for your feedback. Some of those items are there to make the puzzles more difficult. The piano wire is used in the sequel - Horror at Innsport. :-)
Great game, loved them as a kid and still the best!
I stumbled across this game by chance and played the free version first, which was great so decided to support the developer at the same time as seeing if the ‘extras’ added some challenge...
Well, I finally discovered what that piano wire was for after much frustrating addiction to the game!
I loved text adventures as a kid (when it was either these or Pong as computer games haha!), and I am so grateful that there’s at least one developer still keeping this type of game alive in the traditional sense.
I’ve now downloaded the paid versions of the next three ‘chapters’, and eagerly awaiting more (please, please, please!!!).
While this is not a long game by any means, it is a great way to pass a little time and keep the logical mind working.
Free version is pretty basic with solutions sometimes handed to you on a platter (though still fun), but I recommend paying the very low price to upgrade, it really makes you think in places. Getting into Toms room is a tad more difficult as an example of an extra challenge.
Love this and I really hope there are more coming in the future!
Good game
This is a short and fun adventure game with a creepy atmosphere.
