Great app and device

The App works very well, straight forward and easy to use. The device itself is small and compact and prints decent photos.

The only thing I don’t like is the quality of the photos, the device uses zero ink technology so I guess it’s to be expected, hopefully with improved future devices the photos are improved.

Developer Response ,

Hi JackGriffin, you are correct that there are limitations with the zero ink technology. However, we continue to work to make print quality improvements, so be sure to keep your app and firmware up to date! Pretty good device, less good app

I bought my sprocket a couple of days ago and so far I love it. It’s perfect for printing out those moments you want to hold on to forever. The only issue I have with the device is the print quality. I understand that it is due to the Zink technology that the sprocket uses and mostly it doesn’t affect me as a stick my photos up on my wall and only look at them from a distance however it would be nice to have better print quality.

On the other hand I feel the app needs to have a lot more capabilities and a more intuitive UI. I found when I had to update my sprocket I had to restart it multiple times for it to stop saying “no sprocket connected” even though I could still print.

Overall a great product that just needs a bit of refining.

Hard to set up

I purchased my HP Sprocket a few weeks ago. Set up was a nightmare. It connected to my device with no issues, however it just would not print. After multiple attempts, searching for videos online, switching paper around, inserting the paper from the back forward and from the front backwards, nothing would work. I kept getting a paper jam error, as the little barcode piece would just get stuck in the feed...so I decided to take out the smart barcode card. Success…finally. I understand the barcode determines the paper that you are using, but it doesn’t entirely seem necessary. Any explanation as to why my printer prints without this card would be appreciated. Other than that, I do like the sprocket, it just wasn’t the easiest set up in the world

Developer Response ,

Hi midnite_sparrow, thanks for reaching out! Sorry to hear about the nightmare experience with the setup/printing. The colored Print Quality (PQ) card that comes with each paper pack passes through the HP Sprocket Photo Printer automatically before the first print job. It cleans and calibrates the printer for that specific paper pack. Discard the Print Quality Card after you have printed all ten sheets in that pack. It only needs to run through the printer once, before the first print of that pack, unless you are experiencing PQ issues. In that case, sometimes running it 3-4 through the printer can help which is why we encourage you to keep the PQ card until the associated paper has been used. The PQ sheet in the paper pack you have sounds like it may have been bent or ?? causing it to jam in the printer. We are glad you found a way to print regardless of the jam behavior. Good job! :-)
