There is no banking app as bad as this
This app is worse than any banking app, even those smaller Microfinance bank apps.
It’s like a computer website which has been slapped into an app without being made compatible for a phone at all.
To log in you need to enter your 20 million letter password (which is required), and once you get in, if it hasn’t crashed a few times already- then you’ll need to wait about 30 seconds for each page to load when you click any options.
Good luck getting anywhere with this app- HSBC I hope this motivates you to put some funding into developing a better app.
You’d probably not need to update the app for bug fixes and ‘minor improvements’ every time I go to log in if you just put a bit more work into this too.
Stop asking me to reset my password every time I log in! Why do I have to reset my password when it’s correct? This app is worse with every update. Why update for a worse user experience?
Now with this lasted unnecessary update I’ll need to activate a digital secure key password. Why do I need to activate another one if I’ve already had one??
Please put more investment into this app and stop making it so hard to use it. I haven’t got time to keep changing and resetting my passwords, let alone trying to remember them. Make up your mind which password you want us to use, the digital key or the online banking. I don’t want to call HSBC to reset my passwords every time I change phones, it’s annoying!!

HSBC, your AUS app is simply dreadful. Balances take days to update, leading to charges when I cut things a little fine. Money disappears for days being passed to and through accounts. I can no longer trust the balances reported on my my accounts. Let that sink in: I cannot trust my bank because of your dreadful app. AMD then every so often, I am required, for no particular reason, to reset the whole thing because it no longer works. HSBC, there are several good reasons why I retain your services but the pain and grief of using your lousy app is making the pain and grief of moving my modest business elsewhere worth it. Even sending this comment requires jumping through needless hoops. I am only giving you a 1 star rating because I can’t rate you a zero.
