Editors' Notes
Adding your voice with a podcast is now easier than ever. Record your show and sprinkle in sound effects, transitions and background music. You can even co-host with up to seven other users over Wi-Fi and mobile.
It’s awesome
It is so great although for some reason on my iPhone, when I go on the app and click the three dots at the top right corner, it doesn’t do anything, it acts like I didn’t click it, which means I can’t do anything to the settings on the app, or log out, or anything. Maybe that’s a bug so I am waiting for the next update on the app
Do Not Use - My podcast disappeared without warning.
I’d heard really good things about Anchor and started a podcast 2 years ago. Everything seemed to work well, the podcast slowly started growing. One evening I saw that one episode had been picked up by an industry blog and had received over 10,000 streams in the span of 3 hours. This was exciting. However the next day I logged into my app and the entire podcast was gone, it didn’t show up on my dashboard and was taken down from all streaming platforms with no explanation or alert. I thought perhaps there’d been a copyright flag for my intro music however I had a contact that cleared me for commercial podcast use. I emailed anchor support multiple times but heard nothing back. I even tried commenting on their Instagram page. Nothing. Quite frustrating. Thankfully I still had all my episodes and promptly switched host sites. I would highly recommend going to a service like Buzzsprout or Podbean. They’re paid services but are quite affordable and have a very responsive support team. If you’re serious about podcasting I wouldn’t recommend Anchor as there’s always a risk your podcast might be gone with no warning.
