Good intention, but numerous errors in scanning
I bought this app especially to scan an old traditional cook book. The app is expensive, and I assumed it will speedup the book scanning by accurately bordering / delimitating the pages when taking the photo. However, when using the ‘book’ mode it does not separate the two adjacent pages consistently. As a result, you get single pages and double pages, randomly. It also has to send pages to the ‘server’ for unknown reasons, and this process is very slow. Very disappointing experience, and lots of wasted time. Even in document mode, it consistently mis-border the pages, even if I placed a dark background under the book, to facilitate the process. It is definitely not worth the price charged.

Appalling
It took 20 minutes to "recognise" a business card, but it was distorted terribly – it skewed the original image until it was almost unrecognisable, and added curves to text on the reverse side when the text was straight in the original image. AND it would only save the business card as an A4 document. For a simple test, it failed miserably. The fact that it had to upload the images adds insult to injury. Other apps did a much better job with the same source material, did it faster, and did it all on my device.

Dear Tim! Thanks for feedback. We suggest you to use our Business Card Reader app for recognition of b-cards. It recognizes on device without internet. FineScanner intended for scan and OCR of large multipage documents when you need to convert scan to Word, Excel, searchable PDF. To get an excellent result, shoot in good light. If you do not like auto detection of page boundaries, you can turn it off and adjust crop manually. Best regards, ABBYY Mobile
