Great place for stories

Don’t get me wrong, Inkitt is awesome. I love that I’m able to read stories by upcoming authors, download them for offline reading and potentially see the stories be published by the Inkitt Team themselves.
Now, a question. Do I have to re-download my stories every time there’s an update? I’m asking because I downloaded a story before the update, but when I did it and opened the same story, grey lines appeared instead of the text. When I reopened the app online, it took me back to the start of it.
Some suggestions - I know the app automatically saves my position, but can you please add bookmarks? I like to skim ahead and would love to be able to get back to where I was. Also, blurbs. Half the time, I do not know what type of story I’m getting based on the short descriptions (which are usually the first few lines of the story) supplied. Maybe make it so the authors have to write a blurb before they publish? That would make it easier to find other stories in a series too.

Love it, though it does drain the battery

It would be amazing if there was a battery saving option or something as I like to take my iPad on trips to read. I came from wattpad but didn’t like how it only allowed users to save two books without premium, but it also didn’t use up the battery it making it last a couple of days without charging. I have found with Inkitt after a few hours my battery percentage is very low. Don’t know if it is possible but I would love if it can be developed into the software. Still love the app though!

I’m probably being dramatic but..

I put out a story on the app and it has to be approved by an editor on the app if it can be featured on the home feed page so people can see it and decide if they would like to read. the one book i put up had the sideways heart to ‘page break’ the chapter scenes, and they changed it 😭 like ;-; that was for the story! it was apart of the theme and i’m not allowed to use it?! my other book has a cute pretty asterisk, one of the fancy ones and apparently that’s okay. and with the other book for some reason the editor decided to publish a chapter, which i was not ready to publish at all yet. i just think it’s rude to do those things without my knowledge and then tell me the reasons through email later. they could’ve told me and i would’ve done it myself and been fine with it.
