The iZone App enables you to control your air conditioning unit and your zones from your apple device via WiFi in the building and via 3G (if you have subscribed to iZone World Wide).
Air conditioning units currently compatible with iZone include Daikin, Panasonic and Toshiba.
You will require the following components to be installed, operational and configured to enable the iZone App to function correctly:
• A compatible iZone control system, such as the iZone 310.
• An Airstream Home Automation module (Model number CHAM)
• A WiFi modem
The iZone App enables control of the following functions on your air conditioning system:
• System On / Off
• AC unit temperature set-point adjustment
• AC unit modes
• AC unit fan speed
• Zone control including Open, Close and Climate Control (if fitted)
• Airflow control
• Favourite selection
• Sleep timer
• Schedule activation and deactivation

Let’s see how it goes.
Update. Put in another support ticket and all was fixed after first contact. One wrong setting in the config menu on the controller. Now to see how the app works.
Original post: Had our ducted air conditioning installed 4 months ago. This app has never been able to connect to our controller. Recognizes our system but then gets stuck on a “please wait for system to initialize”
Multiple tickets with izone support without success. Eventually they just stop replying.
Works ok sometimes
We've been putting up with software bugs in this App for the past 6 months. The technician is coming out to change the wifi module next week, that may be the cause. Apparently the module they installed is the wrong version. Watch this space for more news... UPDATE: two years later...
When the app works, it works well but it is consistently unreliable. The app often has trouble making a connection with the controller. It takes several attempts. The app shows that a command has been executed even before its successful execution has been confirmed. Sometimes we have to reissue the command a minute later. Thermostatic control only works in 'cool' and 'auto', never in 'heat' mode. 'Heat' will keep running until the house is so hot we turn it off. 'Auto' works better, but instead of cycling between heating and venting it seems to switch between heating and cooling.
On a cold day once it reaches the setpoint it switches to cooling, sending out a blast of cold air. The scheduler function works ok but usability could be improved: it is not immediately obvious which schedule is which, i.e. which zones and which timetable. We have to edit the schedule to check it before selecting it.
It has been like this for years. The service was ok in getting the wifi working to a basic level, but then they lost interest. All of the other issues seem to be 'too hard' to fix.
Has potential but needs work. Switches to air con to open unexpectedly
Useful app, but there is a really annoying fault: whenever we change the maximum air flow setting in a space, the app switches the Air Con in that space from “climate control” (thermostat controlled) to “open”. It doesn’t happen immediately, but a few minutes later (which is worse because it’s not evident when you’ve changed the settings). This means we waste heaps of electricity and have rooms being cooled to the point of freezing or heated to the point of boiling. Really annoying and unsafe for our kids at night, and we have no idea this has happened, until they wake up sweaty or freezing cold. We literally never want the air con set to open, so it’s really annoying, please just remove the open setting! Or get rid of this fault. If this was fixed I’d give a 5 star rating. Thanks
