What is LIFT?
LIFT (Learning Involving Families and Teachers) is an Aussie program designed by early childhood educators to connect with families, children and each other.

Using LIFT, families can:
- receive up to date information and alerts when new information is added to their child's account
- view & comment on daily plans, children's portfolios, newsletters, calendars of events, policies & other documentation
- share experiences/learning/photos from home
- link to and share important information with their child's health and welfare providers (e.g speech pathologists, OT & other medical specialists)

So much to fix

Not the best program, must delete from phone and reinstall to reset password. Cannot zoom photos. Photos sometimes come up black on phone app and computer but show for teachers on screen.

The worst user experience

I use this app multiple times a week to better understand my child’s care and education, and it is by far and away the worst user experience of any app on my phone.

I have been using this for nearly two years and have not seen any improvements in that time.

To simply see my child’s experiences for the current week I must navigate from the useless home screen, select the menu, select experiences, select the current week from a drop-down list, and then scroll a long page of updates. Why is my child’s current week of experiences not the default homepage of the app?

I do not receive a notification when there is a new observation from my child’s educators, nor when there is a comment on an observation, leading to really poor and stilted communication with my child’s educators.

To save photos of my child I literally screenshot them, there seems to be no other way of saving them.

When a file is provided, such an end of year assessment, there is no clear way to download the file. Again, I had to screenshot the text heavy document in order to save it.

The Observations section of the app is inexplicably at a 200% zoom for me at the moment with no clear way of fixing it, making reading updates even more difficult.

I test user experiences as part of my job and for real, this is the worst I have seen in a production environment. Nothing about the experience is simple or intuitive.

Please do better!

Lazy half baked app, that feels like it’s been released before it’s finished.

Something as simple as having the correct Timestamp on daily observations. The programme only works for daylight savings within Australia, and not compatible with Queensland time. Parents are left always questioning their child’s needs and schedules. Particularly when young children aren’t able to articulate their needs. This isn’t some photo sharing app, this is an app that its primary market is for childcare providers to provide piece of mind to the parents and guardians of their students. Unfortunately if we can’t follow their simple routine and daily updates. We have nothing but more questions, concerns and mild anxieties. Fix the critical issue!
