Literal Word is a quick and powerful Bible app thoughtfully designed for engaging the word of God.
Literal Word exists to promote the word of God and not much else. No ads. No articles. No distractions. Simply the Word. We believe that the Bible contains the most important information that anyone could ever come across and that accessing it should be as easy as possible.
This belief has driven every decision we've made designing Literal Word. The app is 100% free and functional even when you're offline. The NASB 1995, LSB, ESV, and KJV translations of the Bible were selected for faithfully utilizing a word-for-word instead of a thought-for-thought translation method. Each passage of the Bible is clean, customizable, and convenient to access, allowing the reader to focus exclusively on the God-breathed content. Word searches are simple but powerful, featuring a unique visual interface for organizing results with precision, and complete lexicons for original Hebrew and Greek words can be viewed with just a couple taps.
It really comes down to the fact that a straightforward approach to a Bible app maximizes attention to the word of God.

Best bible app available
I’ve scrapped every other app and replaced them with this one. By far the best bible app available.
Suggestions:
- It would be beyond amazing if there was an addition of Bible commentary notes and/or study bible notes available. Could be activated the same way as the cross reference option by clicking the verse and having the little pop up bar at the bottom (I would imagine study bible notes in that context would be better than having paragraphs of text from Calvin’s commentary).
- I love the fact that this app is all business with no distractions. However, there could be a market for a ‘Literal Word Devotions’ app as well? Many people use the youversion Bible app for the devotions, though most don’t realise 95% are created by or associated with heretics.
I understand that what I suggested above isn’t just two clicks to achieve, it costs a lot of money and takes a lot of time. If there were the option to pay to add on the commentary/study notes I would be willing 🤷♂️
Excellent layout and font
This is such a pleasure to read as the font is really easy on the eyes and having the addition of lexicons makes it much more useful for study on the go. Very grateful for the team who put this together, thank you. God Bless
