Loopy Pro: Looper DAW Sampler 4+

Game Changing app. RC600 sold

I bought the original Loopy in 2012 and enjoyed it, but iPads and interfaces were not ready for professional use. I thought this whole time Loopy Pro was the same app I bought years ago… oh how I’ve been sleeping.. I’ve tried so many looping systems Rc505, Ableton, Rc600, MainStage, Logic, Quantiloop app (also very good) but nothing compares to the scope of this app. Michael (who regularly contributes to the Facebook forum) has to be among the most talented and dedicated software engineers on the planet. This app is ever evolving, very stable and also has modular building capabilities so you can design your perfect GUI! This app goes well beyond its brief and does it really well. It’s a Looper, Mixer, Plug-in host, midi control surface/designer, and can be made into an instrument of your design.
I had an RC600, one of the most expensive/established brand looper on the market and it is so disappointing… my unit would crash every hour or so of use requiring a reboot. Support is useless, there is no customer interaction/beta/feature-requests and it’s been nearly a year since their last firmware update. RC600 can’t catch up to Loopy Pro, it’s not even in the same race.

Loopy just got even better! Loop Pro is unbelievable!!

I’ve been using apps from this developer for close to a decade… and just when I thought things couldn’t get better… things did!

This app goes from simple looping with beat boxing (you can edit/trim/pitch correct/ time correct the audio on the fly from within the loop) and even retrospectively record after you get something right… right up to grouping loops and having follow actions between groups, loops and even colour groups - another simple but powerful idea for treating bunches of things the same… and a sequencing page that DAW users will fall in love with… and it is compatible with Audio Units, giving us no end of flexibility (it can be an audio unit in another host - or it can be the host). And for Musos… Loopy Pro’s MIDI learnability (does such a word exist?!) and the power of its saveable MIDI bindings means hands free control is right at our fingertips, er… I mean at the tip of our toes!

For me, Loop Pro is the spinal cord that brings all the other iOS music Apps to life and makes them easier to use!!

By the way: this developer is one of the most engaged, active developers of iOS music apps I’ve come across. If people find a problem with his Apps… there’s always a solution coming… even if he has to badger other developers, even Apple, to fix things that are out of his control. Great developer, great software, great support. Can’t go wrong!

Best App Ever

I’ve transitioned to Loopy Pro from Quantiloop Pro. Improvements include: 1) No limits on number of effects. I use Thu Overload for guitar sim, DrumPerfect for drum backing and Eventide and FabFilter for guitar effects. I have yet to exceed 40% CPU 2) Amazing support for midi controllers including those putting out program changes, not just control changes 3) Able to program sequences of events for a trigger 4) Able to record more than 4 tracks 5) Able to customise the look to suit exactly what you want. So overall very much worth the switch for me and absolutely loving it.
