Payment will be charged to your iTunes account after you’ve confirmed a purchase. Subscription to a membership automatically renews, unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period, and the price for the renewal will be provided. You can change your subscription settings in Subscriptions in App Store, or in the More tab in Magnus Trainer when a subscription is active.
It is not possible to cancel an active subscription to get a refund of the remaining time.
Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication.

So helpful, finally got me into chess
Such a well crafted app, this along with PlayMagnus are really made in such a way that gets even a complete beginner interested in Chess. Also has a very generous amount of free content.
In a month I went from not knowing the pieces to being able to play fairly well, it really helps that there are incremental levels to test your progress against.

Good but would like timing options
This is very well structured and the lessons are very clear. Overall a really good app.
However, I don’t like the timing restrictions on many of the exercises. I’m an older person and can do these perfectly well but keep running out of time which is irritating.
An option to have extra time or no timing to exercises would be great. In the end I want to understand chess better not beat speed tests.

Rip off after about tier 8
I hate how it baits you into thinking that “Hey, this is a pretty good free app, it has a good mix of lessons, games and puzzles”. And then BAM. Tier 8 and onwards nothing but useless games that barely change in difficulty. Tbh I’d rather just use my irl chess set and play my coworkers. That would be more useful and teach me more. I’m sorry Magnus but still least have 1 lesson per level. I really want to learn and now I have to use an app like Chess universe to get better. I don’t hate this app or Magnus. It’s just that I wish it were a little bit better for non payers. Anyway, I hope Magnus changes this soon. But that’s an uninstall from me for now.
