I've only found this app recently but it has been a great help in supplementing my lessons in Mandarin. I can listen to tones and pronunciation again an d again until I can remember them.

Unprofessional translation

When I was looking a nice app to engage my 5 year old with learning basic Chinese, I grabbed some, based on the ratings, out of 100+ options and found this one definitely overrated. As a Chinese native speaker, I find some translation in this app very unprofessional. During my 1 min skim, I spotted more than 3 instances of daily conversation with awkward translation, like “see you”, “how have you been”, “it has been a pleasure”, “the pleasure is mine”, etc. Come on, even Google Translate knows how to translate “see you” into Chinese. I can’t imagine what would happen if people learn another language from an uncredited teacher who makes a LOT of mistakes, like this app. My apology for the harsh word. But I feel obliged to speak up so as to avoid more people being misled.
