MedAdvisor Medication Tracker
Ratings & Reviews
Considering everything that is happening in the current medical climate of the world, this app has been phenomenal. The changes they have made have made the app easier to use and has very clear instructions. I truly appreciate what this app does for me and I look forward to supporting this app and company in the future and anything they bring out. I am incredibly impressed everyday about all the different elements that Medadvisor allows me to do and also the hard work that must go into this app for it to work as well as it does. I highly recommend to anyone that takes medication to use this app as it allows you to live your life without the stress of missing medication times or being able to refill your scripts before you run out. If you are considering using this app, stop wondering and just start!! Congratulations to the teams that have been working on this, you’ve done a magnificent job!!

I downloaded this app during COVID-19 to make it easier to order my script and spend less time in the Pharmacy. It took two attempts to have my account verified at the Pharmacy, which required me to log in and out multiple times. My script was uploaded, I viewed it in the app and familiarized myself with how to go about ordering my script so I knew what to do when the time came. I was really impressed with the app at this point. When I realised I needed to order my script I tried to log in, but it told me my details were incorrect although I knew they weren’t. I tried forgot my password but it said that I had no account. I contacted support to find out what was going on. After a couple of emails they simply told me there was no account in my name, email or mobile number!!! They did tell me there was a silver lining though, I could create an account!! I already had an account so pardon me if I didn’t see that as a silver lining! I emailed them back with further details and to advise that I still have a text message from MedAdvisor in March with a link to reset my password - how could I possibly have this if I didn’t have an account? The only response after that was an email asking to rate the customer service. When I went to do that it said the ticket was closed so I couldn’t rate it! I’m now left wondering where my account is and what has happened to my information - I am not happy at all that my issue seems to have been dismissed. I would not be trusting this app with such important information if an account can be there one minute and apparently gone without a trace the next. Very disappointing!
Developer ResponseHi, thank you for your review and sorry to hear about the experience you have had so far. We would like to look into this for you further if you can reach out to us at support@medadvisor.com.au We do apologise that this has occurred and would like to rectify it.
I have been using MedAdvisor for at least a couple of years now. I have trouble remembering things, particularly what medications and dosages I take as I have quite a few.I can see how many days (and edit if needed)I have left of my current prescription (which can be useful if I’m not sure if I already took it or not) and how many repeats I have left. When I go to my doctor each month I can pull up my MedAdvisor app and tell him which prescriptions I need repeats of.You can also add in the non-prescription meds you take frequently into your list so you know exactly what you take and can provide to doctors if needed and to stay safe from drug interactions or contraindications. The ONLY fault I find with the app (and this has been an issue on and off over the years, but has been persistent for a while now), if you don’t take the photo of your new prescription fast enough the entire app freezes and you have to completely close the app and restart it and try again. It will often freeze even once you have taken the photo and just not load to the next page.If you have more than 1 prescription to take a photo of its even more hit and miss. If you DO manage to take the photo/s successfully, they turn out a little fuzzy (but thankfully my pharmacy can still process due them being regular/permanent prescriptions). For this reason I had to remove a star from my review, if this can be fixed and stay fixed it would be 5 stars!
I had some minor issues logging in with the most recent update of this app but the app developers were quick to help me resolve this :) I love the ease of ordering medication through this app and getting to skip the queue at the pharmacy. The app is clearly set out and the text is slightly larger than the standard, so I could imagine even my parents or grandparents being able to use this with ease. It would be great if the ‘ready to collect’ notification message in the app had some identification/name on it so I could just show the message on my phone to the pharmacist - this would be a really handy feature for those of us with unusual names who get tired of having to spell our names out to the pharmacist when they’re looking for our order, plus it would let them know (without having to ask) that our order had already been dispensed.
Developer ResponseThank you for your review and we are sorry to hear you are having trouble with our latest version. If you could please email support@medadvisor.com.au, we would like to look into this straight away for you.
On the one hand this app is useful - it helps you manage your prescriptions and place orders. But on the other it’s slowww … it says you have a message but takes a crazy amount of time to display it. You simply end up with a stack of unread messages because it so laborious to click on each one to read it. There’s no bulk “mark all as read” feature either. I don’t know why messages don’t download into the app instead of having to be pulled from their slow server each time. What’s also annoying is the app is so dependent on pharmacists actually properly recording things, and this can often be hit and miss. For example, the pharmacy doesn’t record a new prescription and then you have to chase them because it’s not in the app.Or, the app says you have repeats but when you order the pharmacy says you need to get a new prescription because either you are out (and the app is wrong) or the pharmacy says they don’t have the prescription (even though it’s in the app and presumably they lost it.)And then sometimes the “days remaining” just goes totally out of whack. Is that an error on the app’s part or the pharmacy? No idea, but in general the pharmacy definitely does not seem to be exercising care in their use of the app or how they maintain data. While the app should be super useful sometimes I question if I should go back to keeping all my prescriptions myself.

This would have to be the best free app on the market. It’s just so easy to use. I used to get into such a mess with my prescriptions, at one point I even lost one - but with this app/service, the chemist keeps my scrips in the store on file ... I never have to worry about them again.Im are able to see at a glance what prescriptions are running low, how many days of medications I have before running out and what scrips I need to ask my GP to provide. I can even place an order using a photograph (within the app) prior to presenting the original when I collect my medications.Text messages can be sent and received on the app, and they even advise me when my medication orders are ready to be collected.I don’t know how they could possibly be more helpful.Terry White Chemist stores even have a rewards card for non prescription store purchases.
Bug - the app freezes completely when I select the option to take a photo of a paper script to upload. It opens the camera interface then after a few seconds the whole screen freezes and will not allow me to select any buttons, I have to close out of the entire app and restart - happened multiple times. I have an iPhone 14 Pro with all latest iOS updates installed. There are no updates to the app available and no other option to upload a script from an existing photo on camera roll or other saved file, so I still need to take this script to the pharmacy and come back on another day as it needs compounding. Disappointing as it’s key to making the process any better than just having all scripts on file at my pharmacy without an app. Overall UX/UI could be a lot better from a patient perspective but I could live with this if it actually worked to manage scripts including those from drs not yet eScript enabled.
Developer ResponseThank you for letting us know about this. Your feedback helps us to do better. We are looking into this issue and hope to resolve it in the near future.
I have been using MedAdvisor since its inception. I have always found it to be extremely useful, especially for those of us that take more than 13 different medications a day and at differing times. The reminder function is invaluable, because it keeps you taking your meds when they are due to be taken. The facility to remind when a script needs to be refilled is another one of the many invaluable features this app has. If in doubt download the app and give it a try. I bet after a short while you won’t delete it!!The ability to be able to print out your medication list and frequency of such, would be a great addition to the app, as when presenting yourself to an Emergency Department they find this information essential. Thank you MedAdvisor!!
I have been using this app for a long time and love the convenience of storing prescriptions digitally and placing orders at anytime. There have been glitches at times but they are resolved quickly. Recently the app is not changing the days left on each script which in turn I am not getting notifications for script renewal or to order the next batch. While I am responsible for ordering my scripts on time the convenience of these notifications may life just that little bit easier. I hope this is fixed soon. I am still giving this app 5 stars as the odd issue ever now and then happens every day for everyone. We just need to not sweat the little things.
Congratulations to the developers and sponsors of this software for producing an App that is well thought out and makes a real difference to those of us who take regular medications. I have only had this App for a few days, but I can already see how this App is going to make my life easier and more organised. THANK YOU and WELL DONE.I would like to offer two suggestions for making this excellent App even better.Firstly, the App does not cater we’ll for prescription meds that are used on a “varied/as-needed” basis. I suggest adding an option for a “varies” daily dose as there is for non-prescription meds. Then, for all meds (prescription, NDSS, non-prescription) which have been classified as “varies” by the user, add an option to specify the supply left together with manual +/- buttons to allow the user to manually increment/decrement the supply by one as they use these as-needed meds. I am currently using the “Notes” feature for this, but this is a bit cumbersome.Secondly, I found some of the explanatory text in different parts of the App a bit small to read with ease. A tiny increase in the text size would make a huge difference for me.
Developer ResponseThank-you for your feedback. We are always looking to improve user experiences, so I will forward your review to our development team. Feel free to let us know about any more suggestions you may have, please send to support@medadvisor.com.au.
