Mixcloud - Music, Mixes & Live 4+

The recent updates are not compatible with Apple CarPlay and often the play button does not work when trying to play a show no matter how many times you push the play button.
I love this app and use it all the time but the recent updates are a step backwards not a step forward.

So I just wrote a comprehensive review but of course the App Store crashed

I’ve been a long time user but I think writing this review again, I can sum it up easily.

I paid for exclusive access to John Digweed but after a recent payment method change, Mixcloud stopped billing and to be honest I didn’t bother to renew. Why?

The interface is clumsy, I follow one DJ, JD. That’s all I want on my feed. What do I get, several other suggested mixes, only a small amount of JDs content and ADs in between.

So I got flacbox on my iPhone SE and went old school. It’s 10 times faster than Mixcloud and it has only what I want on it. I paid ONCE for the premium version of the app and I put on it what I want and best of all I save money.

What’s the point of paying for exclusive access if I can’t easily access the mixes. If I cannot access them offline (they’re slow at that). The interface has barely been refined and is poorly thought out for mixes, flacbox has more customisation. And the ADs, far out like serious.

I suppose I have to pay the full premium price to get all the clean interface do I. Just so I can listen to four mixes a month.

Why bother when flacbox is faster, I need to change the track today not in three minutes.

Need I go on. Pay for it if you use it, plenty of DJs but I just don’t need that much nor can I afford the premium rates. From free to top dollar overnight. Such a shame.

I absolutely loved this app, it’s always my go to for online music, but something needs to be fixed, over the last 2 months or so, the app has become extremely crappy. Every time exit the app for more then a couple minutes it crashes in the background, so basically when I open it again it’s back on something I would of been listening a couple days ago and finished. It’s become super frustrating to deal with. I can’t share any music as that option doesn’t load, going to through the track to another share option also causes the app to crash. I have to find the track in my feed or someone’s account to share from there before playing the track/set.

Hoping something gets done soon.
