Description

Mounties Feedback Trainer was designed to help you learn to correctly identify feedback tone frequencies - an essential skill for any budding sound engineer, as well as useful for any musician.

You can use it to train your ear to detect the various frequencies and then test yourself to see how well you know which frequency is which - far better to learn it now than when you have to quickly silence a wayward feedback in a crowded theatre!

Mounties Feedback Trainer includes a built in equalizer so you can adjust the volume of the tones for the wildly variable output of your particular speakers.

Good application with potential

Every so often it seems to stuff up on me but nothing a little 'force quit restart the application' can't fix but other than that pretty smooth. One thing I wouldn't mind seeing is a section where you can modify your settings and choose which frequencies you want to test between. I just think that it would help fine tune the ear when begining as opposed to introducing your ear to so many frequencies and instead of training your ear making it guess most of the time. Also it should be noted that you should own a decent pair of speakers or headphones to pick up all these frequencies. My Sennheisers go alright and it is very useful that you can go through and individually set the level of each frequencies as different monitors will produce them at different levels but it's no use if your monitors can't handle the frequencies to begin with (my sennheisers decided they don't like the 20kH). Other than that this is a really good application but I wouldn't mind an update.
