HOW DOES MULLVAD VPN WORK?
With Mullvad VPN, your traffic travels through an encrypted tunnel to one of our VPN servers and then onward to the website you are visiting. In this way, websites will only see our server’s identity instead of yours. Same goes for your ISP (internet service provider); they’ll see that you’re connected to Mullvad, but not your activity. It also means that all the third-party actors with technology integrated into the various websites you visit can’t sniff out your IP address and use it to track you from one site to another. Using a trustworthy VPN is a great first step to reclaim your privacy online. In combination with Mullvad Browser you make sure to block third-party cookies and other tracking technologies.

TELEMETRY AND CRASH REPORTS
The app collects a very minimal amount of telemetry, and it does not in any way tie it to an account number, IP or other identifiable information. Account numbers are used for authentication. App logs are never sent automatically but are rather explicitly sent by the user. App version checks are performed every 24 hours to tell the app if there are any upgrades available and if the currently running version is still supported.

Users now have the ability to override an entry IP address for any relay. This should help with connecting to our relays from networks where their IP addresses are blocked. If you are having issues connecting to VPN servers, please contact support.

The best of what I’ve used.
I’ve tried Cyberghost, Express, Nord and Surfshark. I encountered anything from minor to major issues with each.
Since swapping to Mullvad I’ve had a trouble-free, simple solution to privacy both on iPhone and PC. Connection speed, along with switching servers is fast, there’s very little impact on my internet speeds and it’s been 100% reliable as far as remaining connected. I’ve not encountered a single dropout.
I wait for a while before reviewing anything here. I’ve been using Mullvad for the majority of this year. It’s in constant use on my PC and iPhone. I believe, finally, that I’ve found a VPN that actually does everything it promises, and does it reliably. Thanks!
Fast, with simple interface
A no-frills VPN which is highly secure (by all report) and which is very simple to use. The app could hardly be simpler, both for initiating an account and in use.
My testing from Australian servers, or one in the same or nearby country to a target, showed high speed, partly thanks to the default of Wireguard. Only when from Australia I accessed a Californian site through a Manchester UK server did things bog down. If the Mullvad VPN suits your needs, then this app makes the rest easy.
When it works it is good
It is okay but the issue I have is that it will just at times say it connected to a server and just not actually be connected. No network traffic gets through in this state but it will just lie. You have to reconnect quite a few times. I dunno if it specific to Australian servers or what but it is annoying.
The other issue is that you can’t define the names of your devices on your account and there is no way to look up the auto generated names on your devices. Reinstalled an OS and hit the cap? Guess you have to either remove all devices on your account and re log in or just guess which is the previous device’s ID.
