Latest version not great
I’ve been generally happy with that app to check balance etc over the years. However, with one of the recent updates two changes have been annoying. First, rather than storing login details, now you have to login essentially each time you open the app. Very frustrating. Why can’t the password simply be stored as before? Also, when checking daily data use over the month, the date starts at the start of the month and one needs to scroll along to get to the current day whereas before it would automatically open to the current day. Again, not a major issue but given it worked well before, I don’t see why it was changed to something less user friendly.
Glitchy app and bad reception
I’ve been with Vodafone for a few years and as have my family but in the last year I’ve noticed how really slow and weak the internet connection is compared to other networks, not to mention how expensive the data packages are for low quality services. There’d be no signal in lower ground levels or slightly remote areas.
I just had to waste 45 mins being on the app attempting to recharge my plan that kept leading me to glitchy payment page. I attempted both Paypal recharge and credit card— only to have connection issue towards the end, or no cursor to insert my password in on the Paypal page.
The whole recharge process would go well until the payment process which is the last step, and it’d make me redo the whole thing again for no less than 20 times in total.
And ended up having to do it over the phone with the operator which was a hassle as i was glued to my phone whilst having to get other things done too.
The only good thing about the app is being able to load it and recharge without wifi or data.
Slow and clunky app
I have been a customer of Vodafone for many, many years now and will continue to remain to loyal to the network and continue to recommend the network to people as I have always had great coverage and I find the prepaid deals are affordable and there are so many options to chose from.
However....the app is terrible. As a prepaid customer, the app is vital for checking balances, purchasing data add on’s and topping up credit, but why is it such an excruciating process? “The wheels are turning” is a popular term used on the app as you try to move from one page to the next...and boy do they turn! (Insert sound of crickets and tumble weeds here). I must add here that often the “wheels turn” for such a long time that it actually times out and you must “try again”. Sometimes this can happen numerous times during a purchase.
My other concern with the app is the whole recharge process itself. Why must we first say “I am purchasing a data add on”, which takes you to step two; pick the recharge you want, which takes you back to step one again, saying you want to purchase a data add on? This process is annoying and because of the slowness of the app, it’s all very time consuming!!
Why can’t you be automatically logged in when you’re on wifi? Only when you’re on 4G? That’s weird too.
For a major network provider, this app could definitely do with an upgrade for its customers.
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
