What is MyMob?
The MyMob app engages changing and expanding families through offering a fun and practical communication tool that fosters positive communication in a family friendly tone similar to how it might normally happen over the family kitchen table.

Whether organising the family diary or posting on the family fridge, MyMob connects families in a safe online environment to help them overcome issues that may be at play in direct communication with one another.

For children, their parents are only a swipe of a finger away, no matter how far away physically they might actually be.

Families are diverse and dynamic and their needs are not fixed, therefore effective communication between parents/carers as they try to negotiate these changing needs is key to positive outcomes for all.

MyMob helps work with complex co-parenting arrangements, recognising the flexibility families need to allow their new situations to gently develop and change over time as new relationships are formed and life circumstances for the parents and their children change.

Encouraging positive communication
MyMob is designed to encourage and support families with positive communication. MyMob has a built in positive communication filter that detects and prevents the use of negative and violent words. Users are encouraged to understand that use of this language isn’t helpful around their children and are presented with helpful resources on how to improve their use of positive communication.

Making life easier
MyMob has specific functionality to help the modern and often complex family structures of today. MyMob helps parents and carers coordinate who is taking care of children throughout the week, what important events are happening and who needs to be there.

Kids are the focus
MyMob was designed with the kids in mind, the App encourages the children of the family to participate, with their own special Kids Zone space where they can share their creativity and feelings with their family.

Good idea but needs work

This app is a good idea but the constraints around the content of the message greatly restrict what you can write which can be annoying when the content is respectful but you get a message to say it can’t be sent due to the content. You then have to guess which words it might be restricting and use alternative words and this can be a long and frustrating process. A suggestion is to underline the words or phrases that are not acceptable so that you know what to change. I would also recommend clearer user instructions as we had difficulty with the initial set up. It would be good to include the date and time that messages are sent too and have the option to reply to a message in a thread.

Hopefuly but dissapponted user ,

Poorly developed app full of bugs.

This app looks good from the outside but you will find that it’s flaws come through as soon as it’s used.
The notifications work intermittently and mostly not at all so as a communication platform it fails in making the communication a real-time endeavour.
The algorithm for limiting offensive language is rudimentary and content that is benign gets blocked because if key words being flagged without any context.
Crafting messages is problematic because you cannot see the entire content of your message. Only a couple lines are visible and there is a bug that when you try and navigate away from where you are typing you can lose the ability to get the cursor back. This means you lose the entire message as you have to navigate back to the previous screen to get it back. There is no temporary save feature.
The is no way to download your messages and no way to navigate to messages based on date.
The calendar doesn’t work properly and gives notifications with the wrong time zone.
The whole app is clunky and uninspired and looks like an attempt to develop an app without any concern in it being effective for its purpose.
Unfortunately the fact that it’s free means you get exactly what you pay for.

Rubbish

The diary really doesn’t work and won’t let you amend dates, to block out a week you have to individually do each day for each child. Messages aren’t date or time stamped and probably the most annoying is there’s no notifications of new messages. I’ve emailed feedback and suggestions but there’s no support. It’s a shame as it could be great and there’s so many people who need something like this.
