Been more then 5 years and I keep coming back

I love how Micromon Nexomon and Nexomon extinction have references to eachother and are practically sequels. They are all must play games. I’ve played Nexomons a couple of times and it’s is the best mobile game let alone gameIve ever played! no matter what age I played it at I always enjoyed it. The plots of these games are amazing the art and the gameplay are too. I was so excited when Nexomon extinctions came out a 2 and a bit years ago and am now hanging out for another game made by this amazing company. Every couple of months I check for more games like these that are available for the general people who cannot afford consoles. I was so upset when micromon wasn’t on the AppStore for a while which made me investigate the nexomon games and I was so happy when I saw a reference to the game. Seriously this is a must play mobile game!! It’s been years and they still haven’t even gotten close to the popularity these games deserve! (Shhh don’t tell Nintendo (promise I love you Nintendo) …but they should be taking notes on the story and humour that these creators bring )

All-round improvement

It’s improved in every way over the first Nexomon which makes me really happy. The story is genuinely fun this time and I enjoy the banter between characters (especially the cat). The monster designs are really interesting. The skill system is much better. Nexomon catching is fun. I’m really looking forward to the next instalment much more than after I played the first.

The price of $5 for the full game is fair. The stuff you can purchase are pure convenience and not having them doesn’t detract from the experience. Devs do need to eat you know. They’ve given a fair model and deserve to be acknowledged for that. Alienating devs who try to be fair in their pricing structure only encourages the mess that is the current mobile game market. You have to support good choices if you want to discourage bad ones.

Unlike other ‘monster-catcher games’ nexomon doesn’t make you spend money to catch rare monsters, nor to continue playing the game. You can enjoy it at your own pace. This is by far the best Pokémon-esque experience I’ve had on the App Store. I’m happy to support it as I did the first.

For those who are complaining about the catching rates, I’ve been consistently catching them at a 25% rate (low health + basic catcher only) after 1-2 tries. And element-targeting catchers add an extra 30% or so on top. There is definitely some sort of algorithm working in my favour so I would say the catching is rather balanced so far.

Pleasantly surprised

I don’t play to many iPhone games nor do I write many reviews but for this little gem, I had to.

When I was younger I used to play other major “p’mon” titles like yellow, blue and up-to sapphire and emerald, but when playing their more recent titles they’ve felt plasticity, I’ve never been able to feel that original nostalgia of playing those original legendary game boy advanced titles.

Now I’ll start with Nexomon, I’ve only reached the first city however in this brief playtime, I’ve noticed the amount of effort the developers have put into nexomon designs and the just downright hilarious character dialogue - with Coco questioning their way of life constantly, I’ve actually found myself chuckling. It’s so refreshing to play this game and think “this takes me back to my youth” but in a better, more comical way.

I plan on paying for the full game once i hit the paywall or whatever that may be, I hope the game doesn’t become to pay to play with the level grind being unbalanced because so far I have nothing but good things to say.

Developers, well done!
