Nimian Legends: Vandgels
A work, and a world, of brilliance and beauty. I don’t write reviews, and I don’t play many games, but Vandgels is an oasis in a vast digital realm of repetitive and aggressive gameplay. It’s so imaginative, so detailed and so thoughtfully woven together, and its narrative is built around a gentle and inquiring ethic. Rare, original, absorbing. Thank you.
Not what you think
If you like in depth storytelling on fictional concepts of otherworldly culture, then this might appeal to you as a story unfolds while running around a gorgeously designed landscape. The scenery is really beautiful and kudos to the developer for such a detailed and gorgeous landscape. For myself, after two hours it got tedious as it just seemed I was constantly running to wherever the yellow diamond marker appeared on the map, where all that happened when I got to it is i’d receive a small snippet of dialogue. Then the yellow marker appears somewhere else to repeat the process. Im more of an action player so the indepth dialogue was a bit too much for me.

Thanks for playing my game and I agree there’s a lot of yellow dot running:)The formats the same as BrightRidge, my first game, but the beginning is a lot slower because I wanted to introduce the world and characters. I think it does go somewhere though and if you didn’t finish the first story I’d say push a bit more because it may still be dot following but it does ramp up. Or you could try Dungeonette mode instead from the splash screen which has 10 mini dungeons to complete, or explorateur mode which lets you explore freely without quests or enemies. Either way I am sorry you didn’t like my game, and even though it’s scoring low with you I am glad you tried it. Not many people take a chance on small indie games like this, and even though this wasn’t a good experience for you, taking that type of chance does support independent development and solo developers like myself in general, and for future games like this, I’ll try to take your advice and work on improving the experience. Update: thanks for revising your review and the extra star. It is kind of you, and it makes a difference to someone like me.
Truly riveting
Such a beautiful story which captures what all of us go through every day life. Power, greed, force, fortune, balance and faith. Ultimately, have faith and know that we are part of something greater. Well done for portraying such truths in a game that we all live in our daily lives.
