Description

Early Years Toolbox (EYT) Early Numeracy 2 is an iPad-based assessment of children's early number understandings-now with extension into early primary school (to age 8). It assesses children's development in areas of: counting; number and measurement concepts; number order; ordinality and cardinality; the correspondence between number, digit and quantity; number lines; patterning; subitising; and more. The assessment consists of >100 cartoon scenes, in which children help the main character (Robbie Robot) solve the number problem he is facing. Items are presented in order of increasing difficulty, with a start rule based on age (requires entering age on the home screen) and stop rule after a number of incorrect responses to prevent frustration associated with overly difficult items. The assessments takes an average of 8 minutes to complete.

Scores and performance bands are presented on the final assessment screen. For more precise research applications, there are options to have the item by item data sent to a user-specified e-mail address or database. For more information, brief EYT training videos, and analysis resources, please visit http://www.eytoolbox.com.au

Languages embedded: English, Turkish and more in progress.
