Description

Octodad: Dadliest Catch is a game about destruction, deception, and fatherhood. The player controls Octodad, a dapper octopus masquerading as a human, as he goes about his life. Octodad's existence is a constant struggle, as he must master mundane tasks with his unwieldy boneless tentacles while simultaneously keeping his cephalopodan nature a secret from his human family.

In this sequel to the splash hit Octodad, our cephaloprotagonist has gotten himself in a bind between his wife’s mounting mistrust, and a disastrous trip to the local aquarium! Are you dad enough to control the titular octopus father as he strives to hide his nautical nature from his family while keeping his tangled tentacles intact?

Editors' Notes

Bizarre doesn’t even begin to explain Young Horses’ laugh-out-loud game. You control a father who’s secretly an octopus, and moving the bendy protagonist around makes for hysterically madcap fun. You’ll slip, slap and slide your way through stages stacked with objects for you to interact with—mostly by crashing into them. Octodad’s hilariously animated chaos is wacky and simply irresistible.

Pretty good game but a few issues

I enjoyed the game, it was fun but I do wish it was longer or had more extras. Some bugs I found was that sometimes the legs would get stuck in the floor. Other times I wouldn’t be able to use my arms. Also it skipped bits a few times.

4 Stars

I rate it 4 stars because the plot/storyline is good but some of the tasks are difficult. Such as climbing the play ground in the Kelp Forest in the Aquarium is extremely hard due to the bouncing and rolling parts trying to knock you off. I also think running away from the chef in the Grocery Store is quite hard due to the fact of the jam spillage. The jam spillage is a good idea but takes time to mop up. Once you change to hand mode, grab the mop, mop up the jam and change back to feet mode you only have a few seconds to run. I countless times have been strangled by the chef with the controls refusing to cooperate when I push them too fast. I had one more negative point, the escalators going down in the Deep Ocean section of the Aquarium. I like the idea of running up the down escalators but it is a bit of a struggle.

I think more levels should be added as it is very expensive.

Overall, the game is one of my favourite games. I love the shorts and the hidden references to surgeon simulator. If I had created this game I would be quite proud of myself as most of the time the controls run smoothly and the characters change and develop over time keeping it interesting. I am sorry if I have been to harsh but these are my opinions.
