Description

OENO By Vintec is your virtual cellar management app and personal sommelier, powered by Vivino.

With OENO, wine lovers can effortlessly keep track of which wines they have, where they are located in their cellar(s) and know how to enjoy them at their best – with expert recommendations on when to open bottles, serving temperatures, decanting and glassware.

Whether you have a wine cabinet, a cellar, or even just a rack or a place where you keep your wines, OENO allows you to create a replica of your storage space so you can enjoy your wines at their best!

HOW IT WORKS

1. CREATE a virtual replica of your wine cellar(s)

2. SCAN labels and see detailed information about wines

3. MANAGE your collection and keep track of your bottles

4. PAIR wine & food. Get recommendations of wines from cellar to match your meals

5. BUY wines and restock your collection directly from the OENO app (Powered by Vivino Market).

WHY ‘OENO’?

The app is named OENO ('eno') after the Goddess of Wine. According to Greek mythology, Oeno was the great-granddaughter of Dionysus, God of the Grape Harvest and Winemaking, who gave her the power to transform water into wine.

‘Oeno’ (UK) is commonly used as a prefix for words semantically connected to wine such as in oenology, the study of wine – or oenophile, a wine lover.

The best app for your wine cellar - but could be even better

First off, wanted to say i’m really liking this app, I tried the top 5 apps and I think this one is the best.

A few things I would love for you to implement.
1. Expand available dimensions for custom wine cellars. Yes you have different modules and shelves but if your wine cellar is wide like mine, the limit of 7 width and height basically makes the visual feature unusable.

2. Allow the hiding of visual feature and just use list view. Particularly relevant for me as I can’t make the cellar look anything like mine.

3. Display market price of wine automatically if not purchase price is inputted. If wine is received as a gift or imported by someone who did not purchase it, it will still be relevant to know the rough price when sorting through the cellar. Im sure this is accessible from the vivino API.

Overall great app, hopefully you can improve it even more.

Some basics would make it better

Great in concept, but would become a great useable tool with a few additional basic features such as:
1. Ability to manually enter wine details without needing to scan the bottle. Many of my important wines are wrapped and I don’t want to spoil the wrapping just to take a picture. I don’t see a text input only function.
2. Being able to customise search order in the list view would be really valuable. Currently only by shelf. Please allow order to be listed at least by alphabetical (then by shelf). By vintage (age) would also be great.
3. Bottle format (size) doesn’t appear to be available as an entry field. Important for magnums and half bottles, especially when multiple formats of the same wine are in the cellar.
Hope this helps with ongoing developments and well done getting this app started.

Developer Response ,

Hi @LordVNO, just dropping you a note in regard to our new enhancements in the app according to some of your feedback.
1. Add Wine Manually: You can now add a wine manually by going to your cellar and clicking on one empty slot.
2. Search customization: On list view in "my cellars", it is possible now to filter your wines, including by vintage, country, drink-by year, etc.
3. Bottle size: Bottle size info, other than 750ml, can now be seen just under the wine name on the wine profile.
Thank you once more for the feedback! We hope you are enjoying the app!

Good app but room to improve further

I have spent the weekend adding our wines into the app, and it will be great to help manage our consumption as well future purchasing. There is room to improve the search function though.

I would like to be able to search across cellars.

Also the search function doesn’t seem to have a exit or back function. Once in the search function it seems that the only way out is to close down the app and restart it which is frustrating.

Developer Response ,

Hi @ girlworking, thank you for the comment! Indeed, we are currently working on the search experience in the app and we will include soon a search that covers all your collection. Regarding the exiting the search function, it seems to be a bug as there is currently a button to exit it. Would you mind sending a screenshot to us (oeno_support@electrolux.com)? We would like to follow up on that and make sure the issue is fixed. Thank you!
