Old favourite and still such a cute game
I played this game religiously as a kid and so happy to see it still exists with support for the newer devices!
Such a wholesome and addictive game but a few improvements could be made to keep the game up to date and make it more enjoyable.
One of the most obvious updates would be a general interface refresh. The game’s current style feels very iOS 6 and it would be more engaging to see some new habitat backgrounds and a different menu layout/design.
The design of the pond is gorgeous but gets a bit boring and endless when you play quite often. The game could include multiple different ponds/lakes/rivers that players can unlock as they level up, with different flora and fauna in each location. This could include a couple of different insect types per location - some providing more energy/happiness/growth and some the normal amount.
Something that I would love to see is a slightly different view of the actual pond; being able to see the horizon and some of the surrounding scenery when hopping between lilly pads would be an amazing addition to the activity.
I have a few other ideas but I’d be so much more invested in the game with just a couple of updates and more incentives to play and collect all the frogs!
Over a decade on this game
I’ve been playing this game for about 13 years now, ever since I had my little 1st generation iPod touch. This game is probably the second most consistent thing in my life. Which is why I wish they hadn’t changed the image of the app. The original one was so iconic and loved by many for well over a decade.
The actual gameplay is very repetitive, but I don’t mind. It’s nostalgic and simple, very zen. I think a lot of neurodivergent people play this game as the repetition is soothing, and the frogs are cute. You don’t need to spend tons of (real) money to advance in this game, but I’m loyal so occasionally I’ll spend a little to support the people who’ve made this game what it is.
I suggest anyone and everyone download it and give it a try.
I love this but..
I played this a while ago and bought to download it again. So I downloaded it and it was fine but. The whole thing had changed by the time I got back. What I’m saying is HOW DO YOU GET HABITATS!?!? Because the only habitat I can buy is a replacement habitat. I searched it up and there was nothing to help me. It’s really annoying because I love this game. My nursery is full so is my other habitat and I need help. This is not only from me. My cousin is over and she’s having the same problem so I would like you to get back to us as soon as you can. Thank you for seeing this. Have a good day✿◕ ‿ ◕✿
