Would you spend 4 bucks on a new tool for the trailer???
Quick Chippy is a collection of calculators for Chippy’s (and the home handyman that doesn't mind 'having a crack!')
It is designed by a carpenter, to take the annoying maths out of your building project.
It has been further road tested and refined by other Chippy’s.
It is so SIMPLE TO USE
Its features include;
• Concrete quantities for stump / post holes
• Rafter calculators
• Stair calculators that not only give you your rise / run but also tell you your stringer length
• Spacing calculators for joist / studs / weatherboard spacings etc.
• A simpler and more accurate way to find square than the old 3-4-5
and the reason this app was developed in the first place, was to find an easier quicker way to,
• have running measurements at your finger tips. Simply enter your measurement and hit CALCULATE
• use for weatherboard stops, deck set out, plate set out etc
The only simple and useful carpenters app on the market. The app you need to speed up your day!

Volume of a cylinder
Hey mate just tried the volume for concrete stumps. Don’t think it works out cylinder volumes correctly. May want to adjust

It's been a few months now guys come on please sort out those bugs and strange running measurement calculations. Changing industry standard stud layout from eg: 450 c/c to some other random calculation for a wall is not on. Sparky's won't be happy plumbers will have a grizzle. I also agree an extra column would be nice for number of studs etc ... for quick cutting/estimate reference. A quick Nog amount calculation for the wall would be nice too. Round stump holes? Pretty but not practical. Deck spacings not practical either unless your trying to stop pine tree needles from falling between the gaps. Pretty good work guys although I and others that brought this app would appreciate at least these simple alterations/additions/updates to be fixed In a timely fashion it's been a while since there was any movement on the station ... instead of working on other less significant apps for the DIY weekend warriors like I have seen a bit of dedication back here would be nice ... otherwise you may want to think about changing the name to the Handyman Helper ... cheers !
Not bad, but I wonder if the authors have ever used a hammer or a saw. Anyway, to some constructive suggestions. (1) Acknowledge your sources. Pythagoras needs to be acknowledged. He is the chippy who worked out the "house squaring" formula. (2) concrete gets poured in square holes too. L x W X D would be a clever consideration to add to the update. (3) stairs is pretty good, but it could include a link to a page that would draw the boxing to pour a suspended cement stair case. Also consider spiral stair cases. (4) Rafters is good. (5) Equal spacing requires the input of the overall length, the overall width of the material to be used, how far from each end you want the job to line up (which might be zero) and then it should calculate how many runs in one show box, and what the centres are. (6) Same for studs (7) Running measurements should calculate cubic metres of material from the running lengths. I look forward to the upgrade, especially at the price charged.
