Quick Note 4+

After getting distracted in MS Word, I sought out this app in the hope of keeping me focused on the writing not formatting part of the equation. It certainly does that BUT…

ANNOYANCES

[Interface] - Can’t believe they mapped a standard “Select all” shortcut we all know to a service configuration screen. Ahhhh is that allowed?

[Styling] - Like other reviewers point out.. what about a little basic love? give us bold and italic and underline please.

[Safety] - OMG where’s the ‘SAVE’.. ???? All that work and I do not know if it will be there in a second, an hour, a day, a decade???

There’s no indicator when it ‘auto saves’… so how can I be confident?

And what’s with the default save going to a ‘cloud’. The local should be the default at the very least. I have no confidence in keeping my notes beyond a session… that’s how insecure this app makes me feel. And from other review it has lost data before.

[Support] - Yes it’s free. But.. reading failed promises in updating the app (shown by description on app store promising feature enhancements), trying a support link (that’s a dead webpage) and looking at last release date (years old), I can only see a short useful life, which is sad as it could be a real benefit for daily use.

So it's useful BUT

I really like the app, it's simple, like it have to be. But really needs the option to create folders (and subfolders…)
Also a login for diferent users….I use to share my iMac. And I would love to sync with my Macbook and iPhone through iCloud too.
Then it would be perfect! If there's an update for that I will review again with 5 stars for sure!

I have been using Quick note since 2012 and I love using it to take simple notes. I really don’t care about the tiny bugs it appears to have. As long as it works that’s all I care about.
