Unique features include letting you choose when or how often the reminders come and which of the gorgeous alert tones you prefer. You can even create your own custom reminders.

*Alert: quit background apps you aren't using so they don't take needed memory away from Remindfulness. See website FAQ's for instructions.

** Alert: Be sure to VIEW or OPEN at least one out of every 64 reminders you are sent, or your device will prevent Remindfulness from continuing to send them.

You have learned so many ways to reconnect with your Source, to bring your attention to the Present Moment... If only you could remember to do them throughout your busy day!

The Remindfulness app is designed to run in the background and gently call you back to your truth throughout your waking hours. This extends mindfulness practice beyond isolated periods of meditation or spiritual thought. Woven into the fabric of your day, it can then become a real way of life.

Over a hundred simple yet powerful practices have been created so that you can perform them easily and in a space of no more than a few moments, often without having to physically move or even close your eyes. This is to facilitate doing them when they appear on your screen, no matter what else you might be in the middle of. Even if you can't look at the reminder to read it when you hear or see it come in, for example if you're driving or in a meeting, you can just use the awareness of it as a prompt to spend the next five or so minutes being as present as possible.

Customization features allow you to further control the way Remindfulness functions. You can choose whether or not you want to hear an alert tone when the reminders come up, or choose from several different ones if you do. You can choose whether you want reminders to come randomly (and how many you want if this is your preference, via the "frequency" setting), or at regular intervals from a provided selection. You can also suspend the app while you sleep at night, without quitting it, so that reminders automatically resume in the morning.

You can even write your own custom reminders and save them in a list. You can tell the app to draw from these exclusively, not at all, or shuffle them in with the app's preexisting reminders via the "Yours" "Ours" and "All" options. While you can't edit or view our reminders, you can always edit and view from the list of reminders you create.

Please enjoy Remindfulness. I created it to help me, throughout my day, to return joyfully to the present moment. I hope it will help you do the same.

*Remindfulness...Helping you remember to be mindful*

This app is changing me for the better

I downloaded this app after reading an article in Cosmopolitan magazine saying it was in their top 8 for this kind of thing but never really got into using it. About a month ago I decided to get serious about my mindfulness practice and so I started using this app with the intention of really using it this time. I set the reminders to come three times a day at first and then upped it to five times after a week. I am now having them come randomly ten times a day but I notice I have started to spontaneously think of the practices at other times too. And I am more mindful all the time. Not sure if it’s also the reason I am sleeping better as well. But I am really loving how I am finally doing something rather than just talking about it! PS When I first downloaded the app it didn’t have screens for iPhone X now it does and they are really beautiful.

Love it

I not only like the suggestions in the reminders, but I also like 'take a minute' or 'just a few minutes'. It's much more doable for me than saying I must stop and do something for half an hour.

Coach Janette ,

No I don’t want to share every time!

I used to love this app when I first got it. Each reminder would sound, I would open up the notification and I’d have either my own or an app-provided reminder to help me stay mindful. Lovely!

Then the app started having ads. I get that developers want to make money, so I spent the few bucks to upgrade, no problems.

But every single time I open a notification, I am asked to share the app before I can get to see the actual reminder.

So instead of taking me to the content for which I’ve paid, with the intention of returning my focus inward ... I have to tap “share”, which opens up the iOS options to Mail, Message, etc - pointing me firmly towards the outside world.

Of course I tap Cancel because no, I do NOT want to share every single time.

By then, as you can tell, my stress levels are elevated because I’m being forced out of the app and away from the very thing I got it for.

This is a terrible move from the developer, to be imposing persistent requests to market the product as part of using a paid product.

I’ll be deleting the app and looking for a solution which genuinely wants me to be mindful. And I’ll be deleting the various recommendations I’ve made on my website. Nobody should have to put up with that.

Ugh.

Developer Response ,

Hi Janette, I am so happy to hear you love the app - and distressed to hear you are getting asked to share every time you open the reminder! That is no supposed to happen and I can't duplicate the problem myself so if you can tell me the steps you are taking that cause this, I will get my developer to fix it right away! The share feature is supposed to be an unobtrusive button on the reminders screen - not something that pops up and prevents you from seeing the reminder. That would be awful, no wonder you are stressed by it. I wonder if it's a notification setting or something. I really do want to get to the bottom of it so please do let me know so I can fix this and you can get back to enjoying Remindfulness! Highest and best, Naomi
