Navigate long rides
Since join Audax Queensland in late 2018, I have become reacquainted with RWGPS and it is the failsafe for navigating those long routes. You need a little navigation nouse, but mostly you just switch it on at the start and it gives you all the turn-by-turn prompts and you can simultaneously see the que card. It can be get a little confused at cross-overs, but once you get past that it tirelessly resumes on the proper course. Strava can do some of the same but not nearly as well. You can share the ride data with Strava for better social features, but you can get by with only RWGPS but I don’t think you can get by with just Strava.
A fantastic bike packing app
I’ve been using this app for a few years to plan and ride bike packing trips and it has been brilliant. The array of maps available to plan a route is very comprehensive and detailed. The functionality of the route planning features are seamless and this makes it a fun process, as it should be. Navigation is easy and I’ve never had a problem uploading routes to a GPS unit (Garmin Edge and GPS Map). Using the app and desktop versions is a breeze and the customer service is next level. This app is brilliant.
Love it
After fluffing around with my fancy Garmin I came across this app through a reliable reference. Since then, with spectacular customer service helping my get the most out of the App - including king trip battery life - I’m absolutely in love with it. I use a Quadlock to put my phone on bars and have learnt how to use audio to run route directions. It’s so good when you get an App that’s better than expected. Brilliant
