RoughAnimator - animation app 4+

just started using this app yesterday. it has all the needs, onion skin, layers, camera, and audio scrubbing. So far its a very great animation app!! One thing i really like is the transformation tool and how precise it is. if you accidentally animated a bit off centre, you can still move all your frames back to the middle precisely, and moving it doesnt lower the resolution of the drawing like other apps. The only issues i have is that it lacks overlay layers that are great for shading (such as multiply or add, but i guess i can workaround that by porting the finished animation into CPS and adding shading from there).... and that theres no dark mode 😂 other than that, this is a very good app!! and thank you dear friend corey for gifting me this app DAWG

Updating my review, after using this app for over a year for professional & personal use. It's been great seeing some really good improvements in the app. I haven't experienced any crashing and it's quick and user friendly. Love the new features that have been added that help make the animation process quicker.

My only wish would be the ability to export transparent GIFs <3

Probably the best app for rough animation on ipad so far. It’s missing a few things that could really make it pop though.

-Ability to skew selection with transform tool, or a perspective tool like in toonboom harmony
-Show more than 3 previous/next frames with onion skin
-Press and drag to move frames in timeline
-Scrub through entire timeline even when the selected layer isn’t the full length of the animation
-Zoom 100% and reset rotation buttons
-Onion skin multiple layers
-This might be a bit too advanced but basic pan/camera move functionality?
-Pen pressure feels a little janky but this is just a nitpick
-Straight line tool
-Opacity doesn’t actually change opacity, it changes brush flow which is a very different thing. Being able to actually change opacity would be great.

Anyways it’s still a good app, though I had one crash when i pressed the “Drawing Label” field at the top of the screen and pressed “Go” without entering anything in the field. Didn’t lose any work however.
