Movavi HD Screen Recorder 4+

Is this good?

Certainly not bad, but I wouldn’t say the best bang for your buck. But since all of the other screen capture apps on the App Store are either buggy or destroy your sound on your Mac. This is the best option.

Problems:
-Cuts frame rate down 30% (e.g. 60 frames; while recording. 42 frames)
-Has a data tab on the top right, which means if the thing you’re recording isn’t full screened, it’ll pop up.
-Also slows down your computer while rendering recorded video

Pros:
-Can decide what frame rate you want to record in (e.g. 24 - 120)
-Can record your computer sound and input your sound (skype call. works)
-Really easy to set up and a small file size.

Why did you update this app?

The previous version of this app worked perfectly and was very user friendly - with a simple record button that recorded both the screen and the audio. Today, the app updated without asking me, and I ran a LIVE online course for 2.5 hours. I worked out how to start the recording after some fiddling around, then found it was very hard to set the screen size that I wanted to record (and this custom area was not remembered by the app when I started a new recording). I then taught LIVE, interactive and irreplacable information for 2.5 hours only to find that the SOUD HAD NOT RECORDED!!!

Why? Becuase now there is a separate button that you have to press for the app to record sound. WHY????? As if you would ever have occaision to record without sound - or if you did, this would certainly be not the norm. This has ruined an onlie course I am running and is completely infuriating. Why make an update that so materially changes the way things work in the app, and then NOT TELL people who have been using it for ages?

I don’t see anything better about this update, and there is a lot that is worse. I’m totally unimpressed. Don’t use it. IT ruined my day today.

We are sorry to hear that you had problems using the new version of our app. The sound should be recorded by default if you don't change the audio recording parameters (System Audio and Microphone buttons on the right side of the pane). Please let us know if you are still experiencing this issue and we will try to fix it during the further updates.
