Description

In the framework of the Bilateral Agreement between the Italian Ministry for Environment, Land and Sea Protection (IMELS) and UN Environment/Mediterranean Action Plan for the biennium 2018-2019 INFO/RAC has received the mandate to develop a user-friendly platform for data management and smartphone application to collect the Marine Litter data.
The application, which will be integrated in the InfoMAP system, aims to acquire from citizens, professional organizations and civil associations geographical data on "MARINE LITTER" (IMAP Ecological Objective EO10 and Descriptor 10 of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive) through the development of a multilingual APP (English, French and Italian) for the collection of georeferenced information.
The overall idea has been that of creating an application that allows in the next future INFO/RAC to link also other topics, providing a mobile app upgradable, where the user can select a topic and enter in a specific form and activate a specific interface for sending data to the UNEP/MAP system.
