Convenient, and the app developer actually cares!
The SEEK app is convenient, the app behaves as well as the desktop version... and in some ways, the app is better.
Furthermore, recently I posted this suggestion:
“What I would really like to see improved is to be given the option for saved searches to ALWAYS sort by date, as soon as you open the search. I managed to get one of my searches to do this, but have never been able to repeat it on my other searches.”
The app developer responded almost straight away and told me how to achieve this. Now that’s great service from an app developer - you don’t get better than this!!
BTW: to get it to sort by date, open the SEEK website on your computer (NOT your smart device!!), open the offending search, sort by date, save the search again, delete the old search... and there you have it - your search always lists in date order, even on the app ;)
Developer Response ,
Thanks so much for the awesome feedback! When it comes to saved searches, the trick to keep your date filter saved is to ensure when you edit it you're doing so via the device you set the saved search up on. So if you created the saved search from a desktop, you'll need to log into a computer again and edit the search to sort by date. Otherwise it will always default on a mobile to the way it was originally created. Hope this helps!
Follow up on your applications
Workpac in have been advertising for jobs in Bowen basin. When you hit apply now it then leaves the app and go to there website and apply. Asks for just an email nothing more, hit apply and says application done nothing more. So I called and asked why no details, phone number, resume ect. They said you need to register in the office or online with them before your application will be looked at even though it says applied. She didn't seem to understand how wrong that is to let ppl think they have applied when by rights they have not. Just wrong i think! So I called seek was told they have no control on that? Well that's wrong as well! It's actually false advertising I think.
But there does seem to be a lot of Employment Agencies on SEEK then independent Businesses ect.
Developer Response ,
Sorry you have not had a great experience with the WorkPac apply process. We have raised this with WorkPac based on your feedback. We know that WorkPac offers a single click apply after initial sign up. If this was not the case, we encourage you to contact WorkPac directly via firstname.lastname@example.org so that they can assist you directly. Please also note you can go into your myworkpac.com profile at any time and add or modify your contact details, resume, work history and more. WorkPac also recommends that if an applicant wants to stand out from the crowd, it is best to register with and speak directly to a recruitment consultant in your closest WorkPac office. Good luck.
Needs to filter out applied jobs
Once a user has applied for a particular job the same is available in the activity section of the app. However when the user searches for the same category the entire list of jobs including the ones which are applied get populated in the search. Either only the new/not applied jobs should be shown or there should be a filter provided to view only the new/not applied jobs. This will help the user to focus on the desired list and not end up wasting time in scrolling all applied jobs.
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
